More About This Position

Legacy-Power’s Project Manager moves projects from evaluation to completion through some of the area’s most exciting building projects in the Northeast and beyond. As a Project Manager, you will report to the Director of Operations, bring technical expertise, enthusiasm, and energy to your work, building lasting relationships alongside a team of construction professionals. You'll oversee projects that help businesses, municipalities, and communities transition to renewable energy while responding to the evolving needs of clients and field teams. You'll be an integral member of the team, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget while maintaining the administrative and contractual requirements that keep them moving successfully.


Essential Job Functions

Project Execution & Delivery

  • Manage the planning and execution of all assigned projects, ensuring project goals are clear and achievable
  • Develop and manage project schedules and scope of work in alignment with contract agreements
  • Manage project budgets, change orders, and client expectations to meet safety, budget, and schedule goals
  • Oversee and coordinate project milestones; ensure contractors, vendors, and subcontractors adhere to project guidelines and procedures
  • Closely monitor project progress, scope of work, and construction quality
  • Conduct site visits at least twice per month (up to 20% travel)

Safety & Quality

  • Manage health, safety, and environmental compliance across all assigned projects
  • Drive quality and profitability to meet or exceed company objectives

Documentation & Compliance

  • Lead all project documentation, including financial forecasting, permits, invoicing, contracts, pay applications, and owner’s manuals
  • Proactively manage RFIs, submittals, and document control
  • Review project plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure compliance
  • Review and verify the accuracy of invoices received for all projects
  • Lead solar industry-specific field testing and project closeout documentation
  • Manage Prevailing Wage (PWA) and union ratio requirements at the job site

Stakeholder & Team Leadership

  • Effectively manage communication between all project stakeholders
  • Lead and manage regular project review meetings
  • Manage client and vendor relationships
  • Lead and sign off on the procurement of materials and other items necessary to complete project goals
  • Assist with managing equipment logistics in alignment with project schedules
Requirements:

Job Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

Required

  • 3+ years of relevant project management experience
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Highly effective communication through in-person, phone, and email correspondence
  • Ability to read and interpret civil, electrical, and mechanical drawings at all project phases
  • Working knowledge of electrical code
  • Ability to proactively identify and mitigate project risks
  • Advanced scheduling, planning, and document control skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft platforms, including Teams and Project
  • OSHA 10
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred

  • Solar industry experience
  • OSHA 30
  • NABCEP certification

This position regularly requires the ability to:

  • Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and direct sunlight.
  • Ability to alternate between office, vehicle, and active construction site environments throughout the workday.
  • Ability to inspect work performed in the field, including walking active jobsites over uneven terrain.
  • Stand, walk, climb ladders, kneel, crouch, bend, and navigate uneven terrain for extended periods.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Wear and properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility clothing, and fall protection when required.
  • Safely access and work on active construction sites while maintaining constant awareness of changing site conditions.
  • Perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
  • Operate or work safely around construction equipment, tools, and heavy machinery.
  • Maintain visual acuity sufficient to inspect work quality, identify potential hazards, and read construction drawings and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively in noisy construction environments using verbal communication, radios, and mobile devices.
  • Travel to assigned project sites as required, including occasional overnight travel depending on project location.
