Job description

Project Manager-New Business

Job Summary

The Project Manager, New Business manages commercial, industrial, builder/developer, rural extension, and renewable energy projects while deliveringan exceptionalcustomer experience and supporting the company's financial and program enrollment goals. This role manages gas distribution, electric distribution,and electric transmission projects from project initiation through meter installation, serving as the primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities for all levels include:

  • Review and analyze construction drawings, permits, easements, agreements, and related documentation for gas and electric projects.

  • Providetechnical guidance to customers regarding gas and electric service installations, including activities both in front of and behind the meter.

  • Develop andmaintainrelationships with customers, community organizations, and key stakeholders.

  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure efficient andtimelycompletion of utility projects through service installation.

  • Manage project commitments, schedules, resources, and materials to align with customer readiness and project milestones.

  • Communicatetariff requirements and explain their impact on new business projects.

  • Obtain capital authorization and execute customer service agreementsin accordance withcompany policies.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously whileidentifyingand resolving field and construction-related issues.

  • Support restoration efforts during power outages as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Project Manager, New Business:

*Compensation Range:$69,900 - $105,000 annually

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience.

  • 1-2 years of experience in gas and electric distribution and transmission engineering principles.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and apply basic surveying principles.

  • Knowledge of project management processes, budgeting, and scheduling practices.

  • Proficiencywith Microsoft 365.

  • Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and manage competing priorities.

  • Travel may berequired.

Senior Project Manager, New Business:

*Compensation Range:$82,200 - $123,200 annually

In addition to meeting the Project Manager qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience in gas and electric distribution and transmission engineering principles.

  • Demonstrated success managing New Business projects through completion.

  • Proficiencywith work management systems and customer relationship management tools.

  • Mentor and support Project Managers within the New Business organization.

  • Manage larger and more complex gas and electric projects.

  • Lead special assignments and initiatives requiring advanced New Business project management experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to take on expanded responsibilities and guide others.

Lead Project Manager, New Business

*Compensation Range:$96,600 - $144,900 annually

In addition to meeting the Senior Project Manager qualifications:

  • 3-4 years of experience in gas and electric distribution and transmission engineering principles.

  • Demonstrated success managing large, complex commercial and industrial projects through completion.

  • Represent the company on committees, industry organizations,and withkey external stakeholders.

  • Lead commercial and industrial contract negotiations, approval processes, and post-constructioncustomer engagement.

  • Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert for Project Managers across the organization.

  • Provide leadership onhighly complexcustomer solutions and strategic initiatives.
