Job description

Hiring: IT Healthcare Project Manager / MMIS Operations Lead
Location: Columbia, SC (Onsite first 30–90 days, then Hybrid)
Contract: 12+ Months (High likelihood of extension)
Engagement Type: Contract – W2.


We are actively recruiting an experienced IT Healthcare Project Manager / Operations Lead to support the State of South Carolina (SCDHHS) in driving enterprise MMIS and Medicaid Encounter Processing operations.


Role Highlights:
- Lead daily operations, production support, EDI/interface workflows, and UAT teams for Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MMIS).
- Manage vendor performance, monitor critical SLAs, and oversee release/change management pipelines.
- Drive incident management, ticketing escalations, and root-cause resolution (including on-call/after-hours operational oversight).
- Develop operational process flows, desk aides, and SOPs for healthcare service lines.
- Ensure end-to-end security compliance with CMS and SSA standards.


Key Requirements:
- 5+ years in Project/Program Management overseeing healthcare system implementations or enhancements.
- 3+ years managing system operations/administrative programs within a healthcare domain.
- Strong background in Medicaid systems (MMIS), MCO enrollment, claims, or encounter processing (Highly Preferred).
- Experience with ticketing systems, SOP authoring, and SLA governance.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Tech, Healthcare (or equivalent practical experience).
- Must currently reside in South Carolina or be willing to relocate to Columbia, SC prior to start.
