ABOUT THE ROLE

The Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful delivery of Water/Wastewater projects from planning through to completion. This role works closely with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure projects are executed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual requirements.

The Project Manager will lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage project risks, and drive performance across all phases of the project lifecycle. This includes overseeing planning, procurement, scheduling, and execution activities, while ensuring alignment with project objectives and company standards.

This role requires a hands-on leader who can build strong relationships with stakeholders, effectively communicate across all levels, and proactively address challenges to keep projects on track. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining client satisfaction while upholding a strong safety-first culture and delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project execution, ensuring delivery is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with contractual requirements, while meeting client expectations and championing a strong safety-first culture.
  • Develop and drive comprehensive project execution plans, including scope, schedule, quality, health and safety, risk, and change management.
  • Facilitate and lead project meetings with internal teams, site staff, clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Monitor project performance, proactively identify and resolve issues, and provide clear and consistent reporting to senior leadership.
  • Champion safety by adhering to all occupational health and safety legislation, managing risks, leading inspections and ITPs, and promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure high standards of quality by implementing and maintaining the company’s Quality Management System and adhering to industry’s best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by ensuring transparency, clear communication, and a positive project experience from start to finish.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the project team, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors, trades, and all project stakeholders.
  • Contribute to a collaborative Operations team by sharing knowledge, supporting peers, and driving overall team success.
  • Promote and uphold company values, culture, and commitment to a safe and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5–10+ years of experience in construction project management, with exposure to large-scale projects within the Water/Wastewater sector.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Professional designation such as Eng. and/or Gold Seal Certification (GSC) is considered an asset.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with project management tools such as Procore, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, or Touch plan is preferred.
  • Experience working across a variety of contract delivery models, including Design-Bid-Build, Progressive Design-Build, CMAR, and IPD, is an asset.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Ontario for the duration of the project; valid driver’s license or reliable transportation required.
