Intern Program Overview
Job Purpose
CNH is seeking a Design Engineer Intern to support our Soil Management Engineering activities in Goodfield, Illinois. CNH/Case IH is the market leader in tillage equipment in North America with a strong history and reputation for highly durable agronomic designs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with engineering team members to support design activities and project completion
  • Assist in the development and improvement of new and existing tillage products, components, or processes
  • Create and revise engineering documentation, drawings, and models as directed
  • Conduct basic engineering analyses on components and assemblies to support design decisions related to cost, manufacturability, quality, and reliability
  • Participate in discussions with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and other functional teams to better understand product requirements and engineering solutions
  • Assist with product testing, validation, and data collection activities in laboratory and field environments
  • Compile, organize, and analyze test results and engineering data for review by senior engineers
  • Support new product development, continuous improvement, cost reduction, and product enhancement initiatives
  • Learn and apply engineering standards, company procedures, and industry best practices
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Experience Required
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and design processes.
  • Familiarity with CAD software and Microsoft Office applications preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Relevant coursework, laboratory projects, student design teams or extracurricular engineering activities are beneficial.

The annual salary for this role is USD $19.57 - $27.87 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
For roles open across multiple locations, the salary range indicated refers to the primary location. If a different location is considered, the applicable salary range will be communicated to candidates prior to the first interview.
