The Role:

The Senior Interior Designer is responsible for leading multiple complex and high-profile interior design projects, ensuring they meet all aesthetic, functional, and budgetary requirements. This role demands extensive client interaction, strategic project management, executing advanced design tasks, and mentoring design teams, ensuring design excellence. The Interior Designer is pivotal in driving the project from inception through completion, managing both the creative and logistical elements to achieve successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Strategically lead multiple interior design projects, ensuring they meet all operational, budgetary, creative and technical standards, and design-quality objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary design contact, and ensuring high levels of satisfaction which results in repeat business.
  • Develop detailed project specifications, drawings, and layouts that adhere to contractual and design requirements.
  • Collaborate with clients to refine design concepts and ensure their vision is accurately translated into the final product.
  • Manage coordination between project teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless execution of design elements.
  • Conduct detailed design reviews and approvals to ensure compliance with design standards and client expectations.
  • Manage the financial aspects of design projects, including preparing budgets, forecasting costs, and controlling expenditures.
  • Review and approve material selections, ensuring they meet sustainability standards, and project aesthetics.
  • Present design milestones and final projects to stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment with client expectations.
  • Engage in business development activities by participating in marketing efforts, proposal development, and client presentations.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable regulations and codes, safety and building codes, ADA compliance, and environmental standards across all projects and industry standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ability to process, during the construction phase, submittal, RFIs, substitution requests, etc.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelors/Master’s degree in Interior Design or a related field.
  • Expert proficiency in design software such as Revit, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and AutoCAD.
  • 7+ years of experience in managing large-scale interior design projects.
  • Licensed Interior Designer or similar professional qualification.
  • Direct project experience working within the U.S. industry, building standards, and regulations, specifically on design-build projects.
