Job description

About the role:

As an Advanced Engineering Project Manager, you will be responsible for all project management processes on medium complexity projects or on a portion (i.e., work package) of complex projects. Lead small and medium sized teams (up to 30 team members) which may include project controls and deputy project managers and will be the project manager for project proposals/offers as assigned. Example project disciplines include Fuel and Reload Engineering/Safety Analysis Engineering, Software, Innovation/Product Development, and Process Improvement.

You will report to the Resource Operations Manager and work a mobile/hybrid role based in Cranberry, PA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete all aspects of planning process including authoring project plans and developing scope, schedule, cost baselines, resource and financial forecasts, and risk registers.
  • Manage project execution to exceed quality, schedule, and financial goals while following the department protocols for acquiring team members to complete the work. This includes:
    • Manage the scope, schedule, cost/revenue, risk, quality, resources, communications, and partners while aligned with project/contract requirements.
    • Preparation and oversight of project cost/revenue expenditures, forecasts, and progress evaluations to support project and financial reporting requirements.
    • Promote teamwork including issuing and maintenance of project process metrics and process maps to ensure team, customer, and all team members are kept informed of project status.
    • Develop and oversee project databases and procedures to ensure efficient handling and transmission of internal/external project correspondence and documentation.
  • Close the project by archiving work in financial, scheduling, document management, and resource management systems and tools. Supplement the close-out through identification and communication of opportunities for improvement, lessons, and risk avoidance for future work.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree. Applicable disciplines are Project Management, Engineering, Business, Construction Management or related technical discipline.
  • Broad technical knowledge of nuclear power plants helpful
  • Experience as project manager in a technical industry such as engineering, manufacturing, nuclear or construction.
  • 5 years of experience as project manager leading and directing medium or high complexity projects to successful completion.
  • Project Management Institute's Project Management Professional certification, or approved equivalent.
