The Nevell Group (NGi) is a leading specialty contractor providing drywall, framing, ceilings, prefabrication, and fireproofing services throughout California and Nevada. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator - Fireproofing to join our growing Northern California team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional who enjoys both estimating and project management. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing competitive estimates, securing work, and managing fireproofing projects from award through closeout while maintaining strong client relationships and delivering exceptional results.
What You'll Do
Estimating
  • Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to prepare accurate and competitive estimates.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze labor, material, and equipment costs.
  • Develop proposals and participate in bid reviews.
  • Coordinate with other estimators and operations teams to ensure complete scope coverage.
  • Build relationships with customers and industry partners to identify new opportunities.

Project Management
  • Manage fireproofing projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Develop project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and procurement plans.
  • Coordinate material purchases and subcontract agreements.
  • Review contracts and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Manage project documentation, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and closeout requirements.
  • Monitor job costs, productivity, schedules, and project profitability.
  • Lead project meetings and maintain strong communication with clients and field teams.
  • Coordinate with Superintendents and Project Engineers to ensure successful project execution.

Leadership
  • Mentor and develop Project Engineers and other team members.
  • Foster a positive team environment focused on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify project risks and proactively implement solutions.
  • Represent NGi professionally with clients and industry partners.

Knowlege and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 3+ years of estimating, project management, or fireproofing industry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of commercial fireproofing systems and applications preferred.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, and project controls.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Computer Skills
Experience with the following software is preferred:
