Job description

We are seeking an experienced Travelling Fireproofing Foreman to serve as Guardian Firestop Solutions’ primary lead on the ground — running fireproofing projects in the field across the United States. This is a working foreman role: the Foreman leads from the front, working hands-on alongside the crew while directing production, quality, and safety. Crews typically travel Monday–Friday and return home on weekends.

Why Work With Us
For over 50 years, The Goley Companies have led the insulation and passive fire protection contracting industry through a family of specialized businesses operating under trusted names across the United States — and Guardian Firestop Solutions is proud to be a part of that legacy.
Together, we deliver Building Performance Solutions, expert installation, and exceed customer expectations. Here, initiative is encouraged, innovation thrives, and collaboration feels like family. With the right tools, training, and support, we empower every team member to grow, succeed, and build a rewarding career.
Our Values in Action
Our core values guide everything we do — shaping how we work, grow, and succeed together:
  • Drive to Win — We set high standards and take pride in delivering exceptional results.
  • Deliver Beyond Expectations — We go the extra mile to ensure quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

  • Strive to Innovate — Continuous learning and problem-solving keep us at the forefront of our industry.
  • We Are Family — Respect, trust, and teamwork define our workplace culture.
At The Goley Companies, you’re more than an employee — you’re part of a team committed to building excellence together.
Key Responsibilities
  • Working foreman — lead hands-on alongside the crew while directing daily production, quality, and safety on site.
  • Run fireproofing projects independently in the field, away from an office or direct supervision, as the primary point of accountability on site.
  • Source, recruit, interview, hire, and develop fireproofing technicians and laborers to staff projects.
  • Manage onsite project execution: coordinate with general contractors, inspectors, and other trades; plan sequencing; manage manpower, materials, and equipment; report progress and change-order impacts to the project manager.
  • Lead application of spray-applied fire-resistive materials (SFRM) and intumescent coatings in accordance with UL-listed assemblies and project specifications.
  • Troubleshoot application, quality, and equipment issues in the field on larger, more complex projects to keep production and quality on target.
  • Champion jobsite safety — enforce PPE and OSHA standards, lead toolbox talks, and ensure full compliance with codes and customer requirements.
  • Document installations, thickness readings, and daily production for inspection and QA.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of fireproofing experience, with proven production and troubleshooting expertise on larger, more complex projects.
  • 2+ years in a Lead, Foreman, or working-supervisor role directing fireproofing or related construction crews.
  • Proven ability to run a job independently and be relied on as the lead on the ground.
  • Experience sourcing, hiring, and developing crew members.
  • Strong onsite project management, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the United States (Monday–Friday, home on weekends).
  • Hands-on proficiency with fireproofing spray pumps, mixers, and related equipment, including field troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, UL design listings, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Physically able to lift 50 lbs, work at heights and in confined spaces, and wear required PPE for extended periods.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a background check.
  • Preferred: OSHA 30; aerial / scissor / boom lift certifications; experience with Isolatek, GCP/Monokote, Carboline, or AD Fire; prior work on high-rises, hospitals, data centers, or other critical-environment projects.
What We Offer
  • Competitive pay commensurate with leadership experience
  • Per diem and lodging during travel assignments
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Career growth in the rapidly expanding passive fire protection industry
