Job: Project Manager – Mission Critical

Location: Northern Virginia

With headquarters in Lenexa, Kansas and field offices across the Midwest, we provide pre-construction consulting, general contracting, design-build, and construction management-at-risk services.

We’re looking for a Project Manager to join our Mission Critical team in Northern Virginia. This role is key to leading complex projects from pursuit through closeout while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring successful project execution.


What You’ll Do
  • Serve as a relationship manager for legacy clients under Master Service Agreements.
  • Lead Design-Build or CM@Risk teams from project pursuit through closeout.
  • Teach, coach, and mentor staff on best practices, procedures, and client interactions.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams to resolve issues and keep projects on track.
  • Support business development efforts to help generate new project opportunities.
  • Assist with estimating during preconstruction and bidding phases.
  • Review project estimates with operations teams to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform quality control reviews of design documents and field work.
  • Develop and evaluate project schedules.
  • Establish and manage project budgets, including forecasting through completion.
  • Support project bidding, buyout, and subcontract execution (negotiated and hard bid).
  • Write subcontract scopes of work and initiate subcontracts.
  • Travel to and from job sites as needed to support field operations.
  • Operating a motor vehicle on behalf of the company as an essential function of the role.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science and Management or equivalent experience.
  • 5-10 years of construction project management experience in mission-critical facilities (data centers, telecom, etc.).
  • High-level understanding of MEP systems and fiber network systems.
  • Strong knowledge of project accounting and P&L statements.
  • Ability to bring an existing client network that can support future project opportunities.
  • Proven leadership experience aligned with a “Listening and Servant Leadership” approach.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to partner effectively with superintendents, PMs, architects, and engineers.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and strong overall computer skills.
  • Excellent communication, listening, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong time management skills, self-motivation, and demonstrated team-player mindset.

Travel
  • This position may require travel depending on project location and client needs.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
