Janitorial Worker- Overnights

Must train on 1st shift for 2 weeks (6AM-2:30PM)

The Kraft Heinz Company is currently seeking aJanitorial Workerto work at our food processing facility in Avon, NY! Successful candidates must be willing to supply improvements suggestions and ideas to help continue the success of our facility. Ideal individuals must be safety and quality orientated along with demonstrate adaptability and willingness to work in a team orientated, fast paced work environment. This position requires individuals to perform general production duties in a food manufacturing environment following strict quality and safety standards.

Role & Responsibilities:

Primary duties to provide janitorial duties to commons areas, waste room, locker rooms, plant exteriors, hallways, walkways and areas in waste room, recycling, and other sanitation services as assigned in support of Avon site needs. Job is shift specific and must be able to cover waste room attendants if absent (relief responsibilities) there will be pay upgrade if waste room attendants are not available.

  • Clean and supply designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc.)
  • Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed.
  • Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
  • Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
  • Identify facility repairs, adjustments and minor repairs.
  • Stock and maintain hair and beard net through-out plant
  • Follow all health and safety regulations
  • Perform general clean-up of all areas of the building as directed
  • Manage routine upkeep of exterior areas and parking lot
  • Complete non-routine cleaning according to specified job orders
  • Remove garbage and recycle daily and prepare bins for weekly pick-up
  • Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests
  • Ensure rooms are maintained and fully equipped according to standards
  • Maintain assigned areas for janitorial responsibility according to standards.
  • Follow all site safety and GMP regulations.
  • Adhere to all PPE requirements for specific sanitation tasks or any task being performed.
  • Perform general cleaning, period cleaning, and drain cleaning as assigned.
  • Perform all other duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor or Group Leader
  • Provide relief for responsibilities and duties that include but are not limited to: Operating Cardboard and Plastic Bailers with consideration for safety and efficiency, operating waste cart and extractor dumpers and compressors with consideration for safety and efficiency, operating liquid waste handling system with consideration for safety and efficiency and obtaining and maintaining powered equipment certification for fork trucks and other powered equipment as needed.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee will regularly work in a high noise environment, and near moving mechanical parts. The employee will occasionally be exposed to temperature extremes, cleaning chemicals, and slippery floors.

Personal Protective Equipment: The employee is regularly required to wear company authorized and provided safety shoes, and hearing protection. Safety glasses, face shields, rubber gloves, rubber boots and other personal protective equipment will be required for certain tasks within the job duties of this position.

  • Able to work on weekends and holidays
  • A Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent experience or general education diploma (GED)
