Job description

Red Nucleus is hiring a Senior Digital Project Manager to join our global team! This is a hybrid role based out of our Toronto, ON office.

Our purpose is advancing knowledge to improve lives. We succeed by being the premier provider of strategic learning and development, scientific advisory services, and medical communications solutions for the life sciences industry. Our global team is composed of over 900 full-time employees whose commitment to creativity, quality, and on-time delivery is unrivaled in our space.

At Red Nucleus, we believe in providing a rich working environment that pushes us to innovate in ways that engage our employees to be their best selves. Our culture is about meaningful work, a true sense of community, and fun. We love to celebrate our people and we are proud to have been internationally recognized as a "Great Place to Work".

How You Will Contribute

In this position, you will be working with our Digital Experience team within Global Medical Communications (GMC). You are the operational backbone of digital delivery - the single point of coordination that turns defined requirements into planned, tracked, resourced, and delivered work. You own how the work gets planned, sequenced, and shipped across the portfolio.

Own the digital delivery methodology and standards - define the ticketing standard, delivery cadence, and acceptance process the team works to, rather than inheriting or improvising them, and evolve them as the team and its tooling change.

Own ticketing and task management end to end for all digital work - creating, assigning, estimating, and tracking tickets, maintaining the board, and translating requirements produced by UX and the technical team into actionable, well-scoped tasks.

Serve as the single point of coordination for internal digital product support: intake, prioritization within agreed guardrails, delivery tracking, and stakeholder updates.

Hold a portfolio view across concurrent digital initiatives - surfacing resource contention, sequencing conflicts, and prioritization trade-offs between competing projects before they collide, and making the call or escalating with a recommendation.

Partner with the resource manager on developer and UX allocation, coordinate design/development pair assignments at kickoff, and flag capacity risks before they become delivery risks.

Run the internal development cycle and act as process facilitator - leading standups, retrospectives, and cross-team syncs at whatever cadence the team adopts.

Agree digital milestones jointly with the initiative Project Manager and other key stakeholders at kickoff, then map internal development progress against them and report status clearly and honestly.

Assess the impact of digital scope changes and present trade-offs to the initiative PM and key stakeholders with options and consequences, not just problems.

Absorb the coordination and administrative overhead currently spread across the team - status tracking, task breakdown, resourcing chases, timesheet and reporting follow-up - so that senior technical and design practitioners spend their time on architecture, build, and design rather than PMO work.

Operate with autonomy within agreed guardrails - making day-to-day prioritization, sequencing, and delivery calls independently.

Decide who from Digital Experience needs to be on which client call and when - protecting the team's focus while making sure digital is represented whenever digital is on the agenda.

Own and report the delivery KPIs and metrics for the digital team, using data to drive prioritization.

Own estimation and velocity for the digital team - establishing baselines, recalibrating them as AI-assisted development changes how the team builds, and holding forecasts that reflect reality.

Use AI-assisted tooling in your own workflow.

Coordinate and collaborate across all of our capabilities, working with client engagement to ensure deliverables meet expectations - accounting for MLR review cycles, client approval, and deployment requirements.

Own the continuous improvement of digital delivery process, tooling, and standards as the team scales.

About You

A proven record leading delivery on complex, multi-stakeholder digital programs - web applications, responsive sites, interactive experiences, or platform work - typically built over 8+ years in project or delivery management (agency experience is a strong plus).

Demonstrated ability to define and run software delivery without a prescribed methodology - you have established a cadence and standards that work for a team, not imported a framework wholesale and forced the team into it.

Experience holding a portfolio or multi-project view - balancing resource contention and competing priorities across concurrent initiatives, not just running one project at a time.

Strong technical literacy. You do not need to write code, but you must understand architecture trade-offs, API integrations, environments, and infrastructure dependencies well enough to evaluate feasibility and negotiate scope credibly with senior technical resources.

Product thinking - able to decompose direction into deliverable increments, write clear acceptance criteria tied to outcomes rather than outputs

Proven stakeholder negotiation skills. You can manage competing priorities, push back on scope creep, and articulate trade-offs in business terms to stakeholders at any level.

Comfort operating with autonomy - making delivery calls independently within agreed guardrails and knowing which decisions to escalate, with a recommendation attached.

Working fluency with modern delivery tooling (Linear, Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent)

Practical familiarity with AI-assisted and agentic delivery

Comfort with AI-powered productivity tools in your own workflow, and the judgement to know where AI accelerates delivery coordination and where it introduces risk.

Conceptual understanding of digital architecture: CMS platforms, frontend/backend relationships, authentication, hosting, and integration patterns.

Experience coordinating across a matrixed organization - working alongside non-digital project managers

Exceptional written and verbal communication

Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities and deadlines

Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline, or equivalent vocational experience. PMP, CSM, or similar certification is welcome but not required - demonstrated delivery outcomes matter more.

Pharma, healthcare, life sciences, or regulated industry experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with MLR review and content approval workflows is a distinct advantage.

You're Energized By

Being the person who makes delivery work - owning the operational machinery so that developers, designers, and architects can do what they are actually best at.

Owning the delivery process end to end - defining how the team plans and ships, not just executing someone else's method, and having the autonomy to make the call.

Bringing order to ambiguity, and building a process that fits the team rather than defending a methodology for its own sake.

Working at the boundary between digital and the wider business, and making that boundary clean enough that nobody has to negotiate jurisdiction on every project.

Using AI-assisted workflows

What You Will Enjoy at Red Nucleus

Competitive pay, incentives, retirement, and income security programs

Comprehensive benefits and wellness programs focused on healthy lifestyles

Generous paid time off, employee assistance programs and flexible work arrangements

Performance driven environment including professional development and transfer opportunities

People first culture fostering self expression, diversity, and a growth mindset

Celebrations! We love to celebrate service anniversaries, holidays, diversity and inclusion events, project milestones and anything else that is meaningful to our employees

Support of the community organizations you are passionate about

Ongoing programs and events designed to bring our global team together
