Title: Capital Accounting Manager
Duration: 3 Months
Location: Portland, OR - Hybrid (3 Days onsite)

Job Description
The Capital Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of capital accounting, including the accurate recording, reporting, and compliance of capital expenditures and fixed assets. This role ensures adherence to Regulatory Accounting ASC 980 and supports audits and financial reporting related to capital projects.
Key Responsibilities
  • Direct oversight andmanagement of the Capital and Project Accounting Team members (three).
  • Review, approval, and postingof key journal entries and reconciliations prepared by senior team members(includes CWIP, plant in service, depreciation, construction overhead,AFUDC, lease accounting)
  • Manage capital accountingfunctions, including tracking capital expenditures and reconciling generalledger accounts.
  • Prepare balance sheetreconciliations in Blackline, respective SOX Controls
  • Maintain and improve fixedasset accounting processes, including asset capitalization, depreciation,and retirements.
  • Attend Accounting Managementmeetings, close related meetings, and Involvement in planned and ad-hoccompany projects and initiatives
  • Collaborate with projectmanagers, finance teams, and external stakeholders to ensure accuratefinancial tracking of capital projects.

Requirements
Qualifications & Skills Required
  • At least 8 years ofexperience, including prior supervisory and accounting oversightexperience, and at least two years in Fixed Asset Accounting
  • Software: Excel and SAPpreferred, Powerplan preferred
  • Industries: Utilitiespreferred but not required
