Project Manager Capital Projects (Facilities & Construction)
Location: Mattawan, MI (Travel Required to Project Sites)
We are seeking a dynamic Project Manager with strong experience delivering capital construction and facilities projects ranging from $250K to $5M, with most projects in the $1M$2M range. This role focuses on small facilities renovations, asset replacement, and multi-site project execution in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate has a construction or mechanical background, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while coordinating internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors. Experience in biopharma, research labs, or vivarium environments is highly desirable.
An Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management degree is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple capital projects from planning through closeout
  • Support project executives across active project portfolios
  • Develop project scope, schedule, and execution plans
  • Identify and manage risks related to scope, budget, logistics, and scheduling
  • Coordinate and manage Vendor RFP processes
  • Review, negotiate, and manage contractor and subcontractor performance
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation including status reports, invoices, budgets, and financial tracking
  • Monitor project performance against critical path schedules and milestones
  • Coordinate subcontractors and technical relocations as required
  • Ensure all projects follow required safety planning and safety-first execution standards
  • Conduct site visits and travel to project locations as needed
  • Maintain compliance with internal project delivery systems and tools
  • Support financial and margin performance objectives across assigned projects

Required Qualifications
  • 47 years of experience in project management or construction management
  • Proven experience managing capital construction projects
  • Background in construction, mechanical systems, or facilities environments
  • Ability to develop, track, and manage project budgets
  • Strong understanding of construction and renovation processes
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with contractors, engineers, architects, and client stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required

Preferred Qualifications
