We are presently searching for a Project Manager for our Washington, DC Studio
Job Responsibilities
โ€ข Leads client relationship from initial assessment of client needs through project delivery
โ€ข Manages multiple projects of various sizes in Commercial Interiors, Worplace, Federal, and Goverment Projects.
โ€ข Prepares documents and supporting materials in compliance with periodic contract reporting requirements
Project Management
โ€ข Prepares fee proposals and successfully negotiates fees
โ€ข Solicits, negotiates, and manages consultant contracts
โ€ข Manages projects from inception through contract administration
โ€ข Oversees risk management planning, identifying potential issues and developing mitigation strategies.
โ€ข Ensures adherence to budget and schedule requirements.
โ€ข Manages billing and collections for assigned projects.
โ€ข Establishes and maintains quality control/quality assurance plans
โ€ข Coordinate all aspects of interface with stakeholder groups
โ€ข Coordinate all aspects of interface with Owner review process
โ€ข Manages projects to profitability
โ€ข Leads integration of sustainability and resiliency principles
โ€ข Champions BIM standards and digital collaboration tools, ensuring team alignment
Design, Production, Coordination and Documentation
โ€ข Works with design and technical teams to shape design concepts
โ€ข Coordinates engineering work to ensure compliance with design concept
โ€ข Coordinates with Senior technical staff and design staff to facilitate technical solutions
โ€ข Creates Contract Documents
โ€ข Coordinate CDs to ensure compliance with firm standards, codes and standards and ADA requirements
โ€ข For smaller projects may oversee production or create all schematic, DD and CD documents
โ€ข Leads construction administration efforts and coordinates industry partners and consultants
Marketing and Business Development
โ€ข Identifies and pursues new business opportunities with existing and potential clients.
โ€ข Participates in marketing strategy sessions and presentations
โ€ข Ensure positive relationships resulting in additional business or referred work
Mentoring
โ€ข Assign tasks, oversee work and provide feedback to staff
โ€ข Develops skills of staff for future projects
โ€ข Creates a positive work environment with effective team building and inter-personal skills
Education, Work Experience, and Leadership
โ€ข Graduate of architecture or interior design school: equivalent experience may be substituted
โ€ข 8-12+ years' experience producing design projects including 5+ years managing projects
โ€ข Registration required: Must be a Licensed Architect or Interior Designer
โ€ข Federal security clearance preferred, eligibility required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
โ€ข Comprehensive knowledge of materials, furnishings and construction methods related to interior architecture
โ€ข Experience with building design and envelope detailing a plus
โ€ข Comprehensive knowledge of building systems, codes and ADA requirements
โ€ข Proven ability to write and negotiate contracts for services, consultants and contractors
โ€ข Proven ability to solve contract and administration issues within the established design context
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to manage and lead all levels of staff
โ€ข Advanced verbal and written communication skills
โ€ข Advanced presentation and graphic communication skills
โ€ข Familiarity with workplace and federal procurement processes and design standards
