Project Manager Architecture Jobs in Michigan (NOW HIRING)

As Construction Project Manager, you’ll oversee new construction, renovation, and property improvement projects throughout the 6PM Hospitality and American Hospitality Management portfolio. You’ll work closely with ownership, architects, engineers, general contractors, procurement partners, hotel brands, and internal teams to keep projects on schedule, within budget, and aligned with company and brand standards.

This is a highly travel-intensive, field-based position for someone who enjoys being hands-on, managing multiple priorities, and spending significant time at project sites.

What You'll Do:

• Support the development of new projects, including site selection, early cost estimating, budgeting, value engineering, municipality approvals, and franchise selection
• Assist with pro forma and bank package preparation
• Participate in the selection of architects, engineers, contractors, and other project partners
• Work with architects and engineers to develop construction drawings that meet company and brand requirements
• Participate in project bidding and contractor buyout, including reviewing scopes of work, contracts, and bid documentation
• Review construction drawings, specifications, submittals, contracts, and other project documentation
• Coordinate with utility providers and contractors to ensure power, gas, water, sewer, internet, and other required services are available
• Partner with interior designers and brand representatives to obtain required approvals
• Coordinate with purchasing and procurement partners to ensure the timely delivery and installation of furniture, fixtures, equipment, and operating supplies
• Oversee owner-direct purchases, including property management systems, commercial laundry equipment, guest Wi-Fi, office networks, surveillance systems, and phone systems
• Develop, maintain, and track project schedules with the general contractor
• Review contractor pay applications, owner pay applications, and change orders for accuracy
• Monitor project budgets, schedules, risks, and significant issues
• Keep senior leadership and ownership informed of project progress
• Attend construction and project progress meetings
• Coordinate permits, licenses, inspections, franchise waivers, and project closeout requirements
• Promote a safe working environment and ensure required safety documentation and OSHA training remain current
• Follow all 6PM Hospitality processes, policies, and project standards

What We're Looking For:

• An experienced construction or project management professional who is comfortable managing projects from development through completion
• Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, bidding, contracts, and project closeout
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and contracts
• Strong communication, negotiation, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, contractors, vendors, and competing priorities
• A collaborative professional who can work effectively with ownership, hotel brands, contractors, municipalities, vendors, and internal teams
• Ability to adapt quickly when project conditions, schedules, or business needs change
• A valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended assignments when required

Preferred Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
• Two to four years of related construction or project management experience
• Hospitality construction, hotel renovation, or hotel development experience preferred
• Experience working with IHG, Marriott, Hilton, or other major hotel brands is a plus
• OSHA training or certification preferred

Travel Requirements:

• Travel is expected to exceed 75% of working time
• Travel may approach 100% during hotel openings, major renovations, Property Improvement Plans, emergency situations, or periods of increased operational need
• Frequent overnight travel and extended stays at hotel properties are required
• The Project Manager may need to remain at a property for several consecutive days or weeks, depending on project needs
• Candidates must be comfortable spending multiple nights per week away from home and working in a field-based environment
