Position Overview
This position is the main client contact and director of all aspects of the project responsible for managing a team of architects to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications by delegating work and assignments to team members based on expertise, work experience, and project time constraints. We work with a variety of clients to create aesthetically pleasing, functional, and sustainable spaces for a broad range of projects in healthcare, education, civic, mixed-use, commercial, residential, retail and more.
This role is one of leadership and includes mentoring and developing other team members. Background in architecture and experience in project management with technical proficiency to create and develop detailed construction documents applying their knowledge of and experience with building codes, building systems, conceptual design phase, schematic design phase, site planning, zoning, bid packages, submittals, fieldwork, project scheduling, budgeting, and cost estimating.
Essential Functions
  • Lead project teams and oversee all management aspects of projects.
  • Determine client preferences and standards.
  • Identify project priorities through client collaboration to determine needs versus desires.
  • Assist in client visioning and preliminary design options.
  • Review compliance with building codes and ADA requirements.
  • Direct, supervise, and confirm activities of project team engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents for the Conceptual Design Phase, Schematic Design Phase, and/or the Detailed Design Phase of projects.
  • Review and analyze construction drawing details for specifications.
  • Develop project schedules and cost projections.
  • Oversee and direct project bidding and budgeting processes.
  • Project documentation management of RFIs, change orders, and additional service requests.
  • Review conducted site planning and zoning research.
  • Collaborate with consultants and contractors.
  • Provide construction administration direction.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create opportunity proposals.
  • Negotiate and execute project contracts using AIA Contract Documents or client service agreement.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and collaborate with team members.
Work Experience
  • Ten (10) or more years of related work experience.
  • Two (2) years or more of experience in a project management role.
  • Proficient in the use of Revit to effectively produce quality documents.
  • Experience working in Bluebeam to develop and detail construction documents.
  • Commitment to and experience with sustainable design.
  • Architectural license preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Effective presentation and communication skills.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Hybrid work format (3 days in office; 2 days remote).
  • An authentic studio culture that values teamwork, flexibility, and a shared passion for design.
  • Must be able to navigate project sites.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • English language communication and client interface skills.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States, without need for sponsorship.
Education
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Architecture from an NCARB accredited program.
