Job description

Overview

We seek a licensed Landscape Architect with project management experience to join our Lake Tahoe studio team.Design Workshop Inc. is an internationally recognized firm focused on landscape architecture, urban design, community and regional planning, market analysis and strategic services. Responsibilities
  • Serve in a firm-wide leadership capacity pursuing and implementating legacy work through exceptional design, project documentation, planning, business development, and/or project management.
  • Provide landscape architecture, planning and project management services to a wide variety of private and public clients.
  • Perform project manager or lead designer/planner role on projects of various scales.
  • Support other project managers or designer/planners on large, complex projects.
Qualifications

Requirements include four years (ideally 5-7 years) of demonstrated skill in site design, technical design documentation and construction observation experience; project management and business development; successful management of projects from conceptual design through completion of construction documents; proven experience producing drawings and specifications from the schematic stage through construction observation. Successful candidates must be self-motivated with the desire and ability to lead others in the design and construction documentation/construction observation process; as well as passionate about engaging and retaining clients. S/he must be ready to mentor less-experienced staff and build a strong studio-based culture. We embrace hybrid work schedules; and to ensure effectiveness in the role, the successful individual should first plan to become an integral part and dedicated presence in the studio as our workshops mean the world to us and help us take our collaborative approach to an award-winning level.An undergraduate and/or graduate degree from an accredited landscape architecture program is required. Landscape Architecture Licensure is required. Candidates with a masterโ€™s degree or dual degrees in both landscape architecture and urban design, architecture or planning are strongly encouraged to apply.

Compensation

The Salary range for this role is $75,000 - $95,000and a final offer to join the firm is based on our review and understanding of your demonstrated professional skills and experience. We are an ESOP company funded entirely by company contributions; our employees participate in ownership. This is designed as a long-term retirement benefit with employeesโ€™ accounts increasing as the value of the business increases. Similarly, we expect that as you contribute to growing the firm that you will continue to grow your compensation by qualifying for annual pay-for-performance merit increases, discretionary bonus payouts based on the firm's profitability and professional advancement awards.
