C.W. Matthews Contracting Co., Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee complex transportation infrastructure projects across Georgia. If you're a results-driven construction professional with experience managing DOT roadway projects from award through closeout, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do
- Manage all phases of heavy highway construction projects, from preconstruction through final completion.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, forecasting, and cost control.
- Lead project teams including Superintendents, Project Engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Coordinate with GDOT representatives, owners, consultants, and inspectors.
- Review construction plans, specifications, contracts, and change orders.
- Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure on-time delivery.
- Identify project risks and proactively implement solutions.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, and safety expectations.
- Manage procurement of materials, subcontractors, and equipment.
- Prepare monthly cost reports, production updates, and executive reporting.
- Foster strong client relationships through professional communication and exceptional project execution.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of Project Management experience in heavy highway or heavy civil construction. Project values range from $10mil to $100mil.
- Demonstrated experience managing DOT transportation projects.
- Strong understanding of roadway construction, grading, drainage, asphalt paving, concrete, bridges, utilities, and traffic control.
- Proven ability to manage project financials, schedules, and multiple priorities.
- Experience with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred (or equivalent field experience).
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards OSHA 30 Hour certification preferred.
