About this Role
The Project Manager at Southern Electric Corp is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating high-voltage transmission and distribution projects, overseeing multiple crews, and ensuring safe, high-quality, and cost-effective project delivery. This role requires a minimum of 3 years of powerline construction experience, in-depth knowledge of OSHA codes and standards, and the ability to manage all aspects of project execution from pre-construction through closeout. The Project Manager must possess strong leadership, technical, and organizational skills, and be able to direct multiple crews and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
What You'll Do
  • Accountable for cost, progress, and schedule for the duration of the project.
  • Assist business unit with monthly forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with safety programs and review all accidents.
  • May work in storm restoration operations to rebuild/repair damaged power systems.
  • Attend training classes or seminars on new processes, safety regulations, and refresher training.
  • Review personnel with Operations (i.e., personal evaluations, pay raises, CDL requirements, personal problems, loans, etc.).
  • Arrange and/or participate in weekly foremen meetings (review if not attending).
  • Arrange and/or participate in monthly safety meetings (review if not attending).
  • Participate in monthly job safety review meetings.
  • Accountable for cost, progress, and schedule for duration of project.
  • Assist BU with monthly forecast by the 10 th of each month.
  • Accountable for compliance with safety program and review all accidents.
  • Follow up on any complaints (from owner, general public, or landowners

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Construction Science/Management, Engineering, or equivalent field is preferred, but equivalent work experience will be considered
  • PMP Certification is a plus.
  • Skilled with project management software (Excel, P6, MS Project, EcoSys, etc.).
  • Strong organizational, analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and prioritize assignments.
  • Management and supervision skills.
  • High sense of integrity and strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours as required.
  • Knowledge of applicable municipal, state, and federal legislation is an asset.
