Job description

TSC's Product Solutions (PS) Division is currently seeking a Program Management Office (PMO) Director with a preferred location based out of Huntsville, AL. The role is pursuing an individual with an educational and/or industry focus in the processes and procedures to manage projects and programs through the entire product lifecycle in the precision weapons domain of DoD/DoW-related programs. Should the employee not be based in Huntsville, AL, travel may be required up to 25% of the year.

TSC's PS Division provides products and services in the areas of radar, communication systems, sensors, antennas and other electronics systems to the rocket/missile, radar/sensor system, communications, control systems, data acquisition, and signal processing markets. TSC has developed products ranging from board-level, application-specific-designs, to complete, turnkey radar and communication systems. TSC has established a state-of-the-art hardware capability that is well respected by customers in Government and industry.

Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for leading the Program Management Office (PMO), managing a team of Program Managers overseeing the full lifecycle of RF-based products in the precision weapons domain for DoD/DoW-related programs. The PMO Director will establish and optimize program management processes, tools, and methodologies, and ensure successful program execution across the organization. The PMO Director will provide direct support and collaboration with the Products teams, Engineering, Production, and the Division lead.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Program Managers responsible for all phases of program execution from inception through completion
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Production, and Division leadership to align program objectives with organizational goals
  • Hold and oversee Program Management Reviews in support of the Division's programs
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve PMO processes, tools, and best practices to ensure consistency and excellence across all programs
  • Clearly communicate issues and risks to internal and external stakeholders, and illustrate good judgement in keeping management informed
  • Oversee program performance, ensuring adherence to cost, schedule, and technical requirements
  • Coordinate proposal development and support Program Managers in pricing, subcontracting, technical approach, and schedule development
  • Guide Program Managers in creating ROMs and supporting customer funding requests
  • Serve as primary escalation point for program issues, risks, and resource conflicts across the business unit
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government program offices, public sector customers, and internal stakeholders
  • Establish and monitor program milestones, master plans, and schedules; identify and resolve program problems
  • Oversee resource allocation and deconflict shared resources across multiple programs and business units
  • Ensure effective stakeholder communication and management at all levels
  • Support business development by positioning the organization as the preferred partner for new programs with existing and prospective customers
  • Lead by example in program management excellence and cross-functional collaboration

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related technical field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in program/project management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing Program Managers or project teams
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills
  • Experience developing and improving program management processes and tools
  • Experience managing direct reports, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, specifically associated with stakeholder communication and management
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products and program management tools (e.g., Project, Confluence, Teams, JIRA)
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented individual comfortable assuming a leadership role across a business unit managing concurrent efforts
  • Experience generating responses to RFIs and RFQ/RFPs
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP certified
  • Experience managing programs through the EMD/qualification phase of a DoD/DoW program
  • Demonstrated experience in vendor or subcontractor management
  • Experience in managing DCAA/DCMA audits of FAR-compliant product pricing
