JOB SUMMARY

The Strategic Initiatives Project Manager is a member of the Strategic Initiatives team, reporting to the Director of Strategic Initiatives and working closely with the Director of Corporate Development, HR, and cross-functional leaders.

This role manages a portfolio of cross-functional projects that support the company’s strategic priorities, including process improvements, system implementations, team redesigns, and acquisition integrations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and manage cross-functional projects from initiation through completion, including defining scope, building project plans, tracking progress, and coordinating day-to-day activities.
  • Maintain clear project schedules, deliverables, and status updates across a portfolio of initiatives, ensuring stakeholders understand priorities, timelines, and changes as they occur.
  • Coordinate work across Operations, IT, Finance, HR, Legal, Commercial, and other teams to ensure responsibilities, dependencies, and deadlines are understood and aligned.
  • Prepare and facilitate project and governance meetings, including agendas, materials, notes, and action item tracking, and follow up to ensure commitments are met.
  • Identify and track project risks, issues, and dependencies; work with owners to develop mitigation plans and escalate concerns when appropriate.
  • Support stakeholder communication and rollout activities by helping prepare project updates, organize working sessions, and keep impacted teams informed on project decisions and next steps, in partnership with HR and change management leads.
  • Develop and maintain core project documentation, including project trackers, RAID logs, decision logs, checklists, and templates, and keep shared workspaces organized and up to date.
  • Partner with the Director of Corporate Development and functional leaders on acquisition integration projects, translating integration plans into clear tasks, timelines, and coordination routines across teams.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of repeatable project and integration practices, tools, and templates within the Strategic Initiatives / PMO function.
  • Provide project management support for additional strategic initiatives as business priorities evolve.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5–7 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in a project manager, project coordinator, business analyst, or similar role.
  • Experience working with common project management approaches (waterfall, agile, hybrid, etc.); Ability to choose project management method best suited for the work.
  • Direct experience supporting integration, transformation, or organizational redesign initiatives where people impacts and workflow/process changes were in scope.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects with significant operational and organizational impact.
  • Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools, such as Excel, PowerPoint, and task or project trackers such as Smartsheet, Jira, Asana, or similar.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and dependable follow-through.
  • Clear, concise communication skills and comfort working with stakeholders at different levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, identify risks early, and keep stakeholders aligned on progress and decisions.
