Job description

About Forge Construction

Forge Construction is the construction subsidiary of Denton Floyd Real Estate Group, a vertically integrated real estate firm with expertise in multifamily and senior living development. We build with purposeโ€”delivering high-quality housing that improves communities and creates lasting value. Our team combines institutional discipline with an entrepreneurial spirit, offering talented construction professionals a dynamic environment in which to grow their careers.

Position Summary

Forge Construction is seeking a seasoned and highly accomplished Project Executive to provide senior-level oversight across a portfolio of large-scale, ground-up multifamily and senior living construction projects. This executive role sits above the Senior Project Manager level and is accountable for overall portfolio performance, client relationships, organizational leadership, and the strategic growth of Forge Constructionโ€™s project delivery capabilities. The ideal candidate is a proven construction leader with deep industry expertise, exceptional business acumen, and the executive presence to represent Forge Construction at the highest levels with ownership groups, development partners, and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Oversight & Delivery

โ€ข Provide executive-level oversight of multiple concurrent construction projects across the Forge Construction portfolio, ensuring consistent delivery of safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives

โ€ข Monitor portfolio-level financial performance; review project cost reports, forecasts, and variance analyses with project teams and escalate risks to the VP of Construction

โ€ข Engage in preconstruction activities at the portfolio level, including strategic procurement, risk assessment, value engineering, and constructability reviews for upcoming projects

โ€ข Conduct regular project site visits and executive-level reviews; identify systemic risks, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement across the portfolio

โ€ข Intervene decisively on underperforming projects; develop and execute recovery plans in partnership with Senior Project Managers and field leadership

Client & Stakeholder Relations

โ€ข Serve as the senior Forge Construction representative in owner and developer relationships; build and maintain trust with key clients, ownership groups, and development partners

โ€ข Lead executive-level project meetings, owner presentations, and stakeholder updates; communicate complex project issues clearly and resolve disputes with professionalism and authority

โ€ข Collaborate with the Denton Floyd Real Estate Group development team to align construction delivery strategy with overall project and portfolio objectives

โ€ข Support business development efforts by representing Forge Construction to prospective clients, design partners, and community stakeholders

Organizational Leadership & Team Development

โ€ข Provide direct leadership and mentorship to Senior Project Managers and broader project management staff; set performance expectations, conduct reviews, and support career development

โ€ข Drive a high-performance, accountability-driven culture across the project management and field operations teams

โ€ข Support recruiting, onboarding, and retention of top construction talent in partnership with company leadership and HR

โ€ข Identify training needs and professional development opportunities for project management and field teams; champion a culture of continuous learning and improvement

Strategy, Process & Growth

โ€ข Partner with the VP of Construction to develop and implement operational strategies, standards, and processes that improve project delivery and organizational scalability

โ€ข Lead development and continuous improvement of project management standards, SOPs, and best practices across Forge Construction

โ€ข Evaluate and refine technology platforms, reporting tools, and systems used across the construction portfolio

โ€ข Contribute to strategic planning, pipeline forecasting, and capacity planning in alignment with Denton Floyd Real Estate Groupโ€™s development goals

Safety & Compliance

โ€ข Champion a zero-incident safety culture at the organizational level; hold project teams accountable for safety performance across all job sites

โ€ข Ensure portfolio-wide compliance with all OSHA regulations, local and state requirements, and Forge Construction safety standards

โ€ข Review and respond to serious safety incidents; ensure corrective actions are implemented and lessons learned are shared across teams

Requirements

Required

โ€ข 15+ years of progressive construction management experience, including significant tenure at the Senior Project Manager or equivalent level on multifamily or senior living projects

โ€ข Demonstrated success overseeing a portfolio of concurrent projects totaling $100M+ in construction value

โ€ข Proven executive leadership ability with a track record of developing high-performing construction teams

โ€ข Expert knowledge of construction scheduling, cost control, contract administration, risk management, and project delivery methods

โ€ข Exceptional executive communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills

โ€ข Proficiency with construction management software (Procore preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite

โ€ข Valid driverโ€™s license and willingness to travel across the project portfolio as required

Preferred

โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus

โ€ข Extensive familiarity with senior living licensing, ADA requirements, and resident-occupied construction environments

โ€ข CCM, LEED AP, or other advanced professional credentials

โ€ข Experience contributing to business development, strategic planning, or organizational growth at a construction firm

Benefits

Forge Construction offers a competitive executive compensation package commensurate with experience, including:

โ€ข Base salary: Competitive and market-aligned (DOE)

โ€ข Performance-based bonus opportunity tied to portfolio results and company objectives

โ€ข Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance

โ€ข 401(k) with company match

โ€ข Paid time off and company holidays

โ€ข Vehicle allowance

โ€ข Professional development and executive education support
