Job description

Essential Duties
  • Provide assistance on the job; specific duties will depend on your trade.
  • Prepare and clean construction sites.
  • Gather materials needed for workers on the job site.
  • Assist in building structures for business and construction sites requiring the use of heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Unload and load materials, read plans and specifications.
  • Transport tools and equipment to work area.
  • Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools and equipment.
  • Clean, maintain, and service equipment and tools.


Depending on the state/city requirements, you may be required to actively pursue a four-year apprenticeship through an accredited program; while gaining field experience. Apprentices will participate in trade specific installations and tasks with the Journeyman/Supervisor.


Education & Training

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required


Skills & Experience

  • Working knowledge of the following:
    • Understanding of traditional building materials, practices, and techniques.
    • Machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Must be able to monitor gauges, dials, or other indications to make sure a machine is working properly.
