What to Expect
The Director, Enterprise Project and IT Portfolio Management is responsible for establishing, leading, and evolving the organization's enterprise project delivery capability which includes cross organizational initiatives in support of strategic objectives. This role ensures that strategic initiatives are executed with consistency, transparency, and discipline across the enterprise, while enabling business outcomes through effective governance, portfolio management, and delivery excellence. This role leads projects, program and portfolio management professionals and partners closely with executive leadership, business stakeholders, and IT leaders to optimize demand intake, prioritization, capacity planning, and delivery performance-ensuring that technology investments deliver measurable business value.
What You Will Do
1. Provide overall leadership and accountability for the delivery of enterprise-wide initiatives, including complex, cross-functional, and multi-year programs. Ensure initiatives are planned, executed, and governed using standardized project and program management methodologies (e.g., waterfall, agile, hybrid). Drive predictable delivery of outcomes aligned to strategic objectives, timelines, and budget management Monitor delivery health across the portfolio, proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and issues. Build enterprise project management capability through training, mentoring, and career pathways.
2. Establish and maintain enterprise project management governance, frameworks, standards, tools, and templates. Ensure consistent application of delivery discipline, reporting, and controls across all major initiatives. Define and enforce stage-gates, escalation paths, and decision forums to support effective executive oversight. Continuously evolve the EPMO and IT PPM operating model to support organizational maturity and strategy.
3. Lead demand management, sequencing, and capacity planning in partnership with business and IT leadership. Provide oversight of interdependencies, risks, and tradeoffs across the IT and enterprise portfolio to determine constraints and collision points. Own enterprise and IT portfolio reporting, metrics, and executive dashboards. Facilitate new project intake process for IT estimation.
4. Serve as an advocate and change agent to persuade and influences courageously at all levels of the organization. Enable stronger integration between business strategy, IT execution, and financial planning. Promote best practices in change management, risk management, and benefits realization.
5. Lead, mentor, and develop team members by providing direction, performance expectations and feedback, and support to ensure effective collaboration, professional growth, and achievement of organizational and personal goals.
Qualifications
What You Will Bring
• Minimum 5 years managing teams.
• Background in partnering with IT architecture, infrastructure, application development, data, and cybersecurity teams.
• Experience establishing or leading an enterprise PMO or portfolio management function preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.
• MBA a plus.
• Project Management Professional certification (PMP) required.
• Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) a plus.
• Expert in utilizing industry-standard project management methodologies and tools.
• Adept at standard office and project management applications such as Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
• Demonstrated experience in leading medium to large-scale project initiatives to successful completion and implementation.
• Demonstrated record of leading others to achieve goals.
• Strong relationship management skills: highly effective communication skills that include ability to gain acceptance of others' point of view.
• Proven ability to manage direct staff and vendor relationships and hold them accountable to deliverables and budgets.
• Demonstrated ability to interact and influence peers, managers, and senior executives.
• Ability to identify and resolve/mitigate issues or risks associated with projects.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, facilitation, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Self-motivated, self-assured, and self-managed.
• Proficient knowledge in technology delivery methodologies/SDLC (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)

Work Environment
Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in an at home and office environment.
