Job description

Overview
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to provide project management and process improvement services to the firm's practice groups and supporting departments. This role works under the direction of the Director of Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO Director) and will work closely with BerryDunn stakeholders from all levels of the firm.
The Senior Project Manager may manage and/or coordinate several different types of projects including technology product evaluation and selection, implementation of new products and services, process improvement, technology transitions and integrations, data migrations, software development, and mergers & acquisitions.
This role will serve as a strategic leader responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing complex, large-scale projects that span multiple departments within an organization. It will ensure projects are aligned with business objectives, meet deadlines, and stay within budget, all while managing resources effectively and mitigating risks. With strong communication and stakeholder management skills, it will coordinate cross-functional teams, foster collaboration, and provide regular updates to leadership. Leveraging industry best practices and project management methodologies, such as waterfall and serial to drive process improvements, ensure deliverables meet quality standards, and contribute to the organization's long-term success.
This role will ideally be based in our Portland, Maine headquarters, or one of our other New England regional offices.
You Will
  • Lead high-impact, complex projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Drive process improvement and establish project management best practices.
  • Manage escalations and provide strategic problem resolution.
  • Mentor and develop project managers within the organization.
  • Ensure alignment of projects with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Manage project programs and directly supervise EPMO staff
  • Plan and execute projects while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Engage stakeholders and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Allocate resources, monitor project budgets, and track progress.
  • Mitigate risks and manage dependencies.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Lead, mentor, and support Project Managers and Business Analysts, ensuring their development, performance, and alignment with organizational goals and best practices.
  • Ensure the execution of project management processes, including KPIs, OKRs, reporting, and resource management.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define priorities, manage risks, and drive project success.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry best practices, and promoting continuous improvement.

You Have
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (required).
  • 7+ years of experience in project management, with 3+ years in people management
  • Preferred certifications include, but are not limited to CAPM, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, Prosci, CSM, ICP, ACP, SAFe POPM
  • Extensive experience managing large, cross-functional teams and complex projects
  • Proven track record of driving project success and meeting organizational objectives
  • Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource management
  • Strong background with various project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, LeSS, Waterfall)
  • Experience in Professional Services delivery, Consulting, Assurance, Tax, Audit, and Advisory, or other highly regulated environment (e.g., Technology, Healthcare, Insurance)
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA, Asana, ADO, Trello, etc.)
  • Experience supporting change management and organizational readiness activities.

Compensation Details
The base salary range targeted for this role is $130,000 - $140,000. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on factors such as company and personal performance. This salary range represents BerryDunn's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications more than the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
