Role:

The Project Executive is the senior member of the Project Team and has the most authority to deal with Owners, Architects, Engineers, Designers, Building Management and Subcontractors. Project Executives are responsible for overall Client relations & satisfaction, all financial matters relating to the Project and the growth and oversight of the Project Team. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for financial health of projects under their control including ensuring adherence to budget, informing Client of budget issues, signing off on Subcontracts, Purchase Orders and Change Orders, and tracking expenditures, cash flow and payments.
  • Responsible for project schedule including informing Client and Architect of changes and getting necessary approvals, overseeing the Project Team to ensure adherence to schedule, conducting regular schedule reviews and confirming impact on budget.  Ensures all parties are honoring their commitments to time on a weekly basis to ensure there are no surprises or significant deviation.
  • Responsible for final negotiation and buy-out of all required trades, approves Subcontractor proposals and makes recommendations to Client/Architect.
  • Overall responsibility to ensure a safe, clean, and hazard-free jobsite, conducts regular site visits to ensure standards of quality are being met, maintains good relationships with building management and neighbors.
  • Responsible for all aspects of Project Administration including ensuring correct set up of new Projects, attending weekly job site meetings, delegating duties to Project Manager and Assistant Project Manager, ensuring proper upkeep of all logs and documentation, reviewing all outgoing correspondence related to project.
  • Ensures completion of all required project reports - accurate and on time
  • Evaluates cost effectiveness of managed teams.
  • Ensures close-out of project, completion of all open items & transition to Service & Maint.
  • Acts as liaison with Client and Architect regarding project delays, force majeure, and all disputes.  However, in all cases shall consult with the Division Leader for direction prior to any discussions with Client or Architect.
  • Provides expanded oversight to ensure all scopes are properly included or allowances are provided for with a focus on the broadest term and the Company’s financial well-being.
  • Responsible for the development of project personnel including performance evaluations and career path.

Divisional Development

  • Personnel – Recruits the highest quality personnel to come to work for the Company in all positions in all divisions. Develops, in conjunction with the Executive Committee, staff development training programs including but not limited to safety training. It is also the P.Exec’s responsibility to maintain morale within the overall workforce and identify any areas needing improvement or enhancing.
  • Resources – Investigates new subcontractors, vendors, designers, etc. who offer the highest quality craftsmanship in keeping with the Company mission. These resources should be actively developed throughout North America and other international markets.
  • Prospects– Actively pursues the development of new projects within the existing group of Architects, Clients, Designers, etc. as well as pursues other new leads for their Division and other divisions following the Company’s cross selling model.

At all times shall keep the Vice-President and President up to date on all activities in a timely manner.
