Job description

KOMAN Advantage LLC, has an opportunity for a Project Manager to support our federal construction project in Yuma, AZ. This position requires the incumbent to work on-site, in office and in the field for site inspections, job walks, client meetings, etc.

What does the position do?

  • Manage a team of up to 15 individuals as well as subcontractors in support of a Customs and Border Patrol contract that consists of maintenance activities on and around the border wall and roads.
  • Plan and carry out the work related to the maintenance activities at multiple locations within the sector.
  • Monitor the labor on every project under their direction to ensure that budgeted labor is met and not exceeded. This will include managing the construction process to ensure that the management is allocated at the correct phases of the project and not over or understaffed.
  • Manage subcontractors and coordinate subcontractor work to ensure the project schedule is met.
  • Understands construction sequencing and is able to conceptually build the project schedule in its entirety and execute.
  • Lead and guide their team through all safety protocols.
  • Ensure all work is installed per the work plan document and that quality is met by utilizing the QCP and/or quality requirements.
  • Perform timely inspections to ensure work meets government requirements.
  • Identify and resolve problems and conflicts early by utilizing specific controls established in the QCP.
  • Attend daily tag up meetings and quarterly management meeting with the client to ensure there is a complete understanding of the project and any current issues or outstanding questions.
  • Write scopes of work for subcontractors and work with corporate representatives regarding issuance of subcontracts, manage scope and price construction change orders while managing schedules, closeouts, and job costs.
  • Ensure project compliance with the QC and Safety program.
  • Develop the required reports and submit to the government.
  • Manage the submittal process.

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field in strongly preferred.
  • 5-10 years of construction project management is required.
  • OSHA 30, First Aid / CPR / AED, and ASHE HCC certification.
  • Understands private client and/or government documentation requirements.
  • Strong technical skills and computer skills are necessary to be successful in this role.
  • Ability to pass a background check for working on government projects.
