Job description

Job Title: Project Engineer

Location: Cudahy, WI

Onsite/ Remote: Day 1 Onsite at customer location 

Skills : The Systems Engineer works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to undertake custom industrial refrigeration and gas compression system equipment design - performing calculations, making component selections, and building documentation for our customers according to requirements of their project

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop estimates for project execution, build schedules, and provide estimates for change orders.

 2. Be accountable for all engineering deliverables and disciplines for assigned projects from inception to completion including field start-up support. Report progress, risks, and resource loading to Project and Engineering Management.

 3. Review compression system design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, contract requirements, and related codes and specifications. Consult with sales to settle degree of compliance with customer specifications and design requirements.

4. Review and interpret codes and standards (ASME, CRN, NFPA, AWS, IBC, etc.) for equipment compliance.

5. Review and approve customer deliverable drawings, adding recommendations to improve design, reduce costs, or increase production efficiency. Chip in as a technical resource to customers, sales, and other departments to address and resolve questions and problems. Confer with vendors to investigate sources of special equipment, material, or devices.

6. Lead multi-functional teams to address new design issues and resolve problems to ensure the continuous, ongoing improvement of processes and methods.

 7. · Mentor junior engineers in processes, design, risk management, and project execution. Knowledge,

Skills, and Ability: Required: · · Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant fields with 5+ years of engineering experience. Ability to understand and address a wide variety of technical problems with little mentorship. Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely in writing and other presentation formats. Must be an outstanding teammate, willing to learn from experienced staff and capable of introducing positive changes.  Ability to travel 10-15%. Previous experience with Compression systems or other pressure piping systems. Experience with Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID). Understanding of manufacturing BOM structure and ERP. Previous experience in heat transfer products or thermodynamic systems. Demonstrated ability in leading teams.

Working Conditions:

This position works in a typical office environment, but will have exposure to the manufacturing floor. Will also be required to travel.
