What you'll doOur ideal candidate is not only experienced in civil engineering but also possesses a preference for tackling challenges in transportation, private development, stormwater or hydraulic modeling. You'll make crucial decisions independently, find innovative solutions and plan and coordinate projects. As a Project Engineer, you'll make independent decisions and will thrive under pressure. You'll also:
  • Plan and coordinate work.
  • Apply standard engineering practices and techniques.
  • Adjust and correlate data.
  • Recognize discrepancies and follow standard procedures.
  • Build relationships with clients, municipal staff, board members, and key decision-makers
  • Work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Project cost estimating.
  • Supporting construction staff with field changes and clarifications.
  • Assist with proposal development, scope definition, and budget planning.
  • Coordinate permitting with regulatory agencies and navigate local/state requirements.
  • Represent and support the team at board/council meetings (1-2/month, varies). Mentor junior staff and provide technical QA/QC.

What it takesIdeally, you'll have a bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering. If you have five or more years of experience in civil design and project management, preferably at a professional consulting firm, we want to talk. You should be a licensed professional engineer or demonstrate the ability to secure licensure shortly after starting employment. Ideally, you will also:
