Job Title: Project Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to manage several capital projects over the next 6-12 months at our facility. The primary focus will be on infrastructure projects, including facility roof siding repair and railroad repair. This role demands an individual with proven project management experience, capable of organizing teams, ensuring timely completion, and maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee capital projects ranging from $0.5 million to $1 million in size.
• Organize and coordinate project teams to ensure efficient execution.
• Ensure all projects are completed on time and adhere to safety standards.
• Implement and uphold safety regulations, particularly Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Coordinate with contractors to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Maintain communication with all stakeholders to provide updates on project progress.

Essential Skills

• Project management experience in a chemical or heavy industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of safety and regulatory standards.
• Experience in field execution and construction management.
• Proficiency in project planning and scheduling.
• Experience in Chemical/Process Engineering.
• Experience with heavy industrial machines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Experience valued over formal education; relevant practical experience is essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Smartsheet for project planning.
• Familiarity with CAD drawings and software.
• Experience in managing projects within the $500k – $1 million range.
• Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment is an advantage.

Work Environment

This is a 100% on-site position at a chemical manufacturing plant, operating on a 4-day, 10-hour/day schedule from Monday to Thursday. The work environment is fast-paced, with a high level of independence due to a hands-off management approach. Safety is the top priority, and the plant will be shut down if safety standards are compromised.

This is a Contract position based out of Tuscola, IL.

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $95.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Tuscola,IL.
