Position Overview:

As a Project Engineer at CAGE, you will be tasked with the preparation, scheduling, and coordination of design documents and calculations for various site development tasks. These include site planning, stormwater management calculations, preliminary and final construction documents, stormwater pollution prevention plans, completion of permit documents, and other relevant reports. You'll work under the guidance and supervision of the project manager to ensure smooth execution of all activities.

Typical Years of Experience: 3+

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage site planning, stormwater management calculations, utility design, preliminary and final construction documents, stormwater pollution prevention plans, completion of permit documents, and other reports with the direction and guidance of the project manager.
  • Manage project communication with clients and build trust and relationships with clients through consistent delivery of quality products and service.
  • Utilizes time management and organizational skills to excel at project tasks.
  • Prioritize projects tasks for multiple ongoing projects.
  • Attend client/municipal meetings with the project manager to review project issues and pursue project approval, including technical meetings and public hearings with the direction and guidance of the project manager.
  • Attend project meetings with the direction and guidance of the project manager.
  • Coordinates with project subconsultants to obtain the necessary information for project design.
  • Continuously meets all deadlines or informs the project manager well in advance if a deadline cannot be met due to extenuating circumstances.
  • Assist the project team in preparing the project schedule and include all necessary tasks to define the critical path.
  • Develops a team first mentality and devotes discretionary effort as needed to help the team succeed whenever necessary.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 3+ years of experience.
  • EIT credentials (passing of the FE exam) preferred, but not required.
  • Proficient with CAD Civil 3D software.
  • Possess a firm understanding of engineering design for all aspects of site development such as site grading design, utility design, and storm management design.
  • Focused, motivated, and results oriented.
  • Embraces teamwork approach and possesses strong communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate a firm understanding of project flow and necessary project tasks.
  • Possesses the ability to guide and mentor junior staff.
