Job description

READY Construction is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects by supporting project management, coordination, and quality assurance activities. As a Project Engineer, you will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and clients to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.

In this role, you will focus on:

Project Coordination:

  • Assist in the planning, scheduling, and execution of construction projects.

  • Maintain project documentation, including contracts, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.

  • Track project progress and update schedules as needed.

Quality Control and Safety:

  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor work progress and ensure compliance with plans and specifications.

  • Assist in enforcing safety protocols and ensuring adherence to OSHA and company standards.

  • Coordinate and verify inspections to maintain quality standards.

Cost Management:

  • Support the preparation and review of project budgets and cost estimates.

  • Monitor expenses, track project costs, and assist with financial reporting.

  • Assist with reviewing and processing subcontractor and supplier invoices

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Serve as a liaison between the project team, subcontractors, and clients.

  • Facilitate project meetings

  • Address and resolve any project-related issues or conflicts promptly.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Manage project records, drawings, and documentation for accuracy and accessibility.

  • Prepare and submit daily and weekly progress reports.

  • Ensure as-built drawings are updated and submitted upon project completion.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) strongly preferred

  • 1-3 years of experience in construction project coordination or engineering, preferably with a general contractor.

  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and documentation.

  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
