Summit Design + Build is growing in Chicago and is looking for experienced Project Engineer IIs. This role plays an important part in supporting projects and ongoing growth. You’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, contribute to a strong team, and continue developing your experience in a fast-paced environment.


What You Will Do:

As a Project Engineer II at Summit, you'll be responsible to:

  • Provide direct support to project management and field supervision staff from project inception to completion.
  • Perform thorough reviews to ensure all aspects are in line with project goals.
  • Develop bidders lists, manage subcontract scopes, and ensure timely execution of contracts.
  • Prepare cost estimates and manage project finances including budgets, cost tracking, and change orders.
  • Develop and maintain the overall project schedule, ensuring timely updates and adjustments as needed.
  • Manage critical documents like RFIs, submittals, and meeting minutes to keep the project on track.
  • Assist in ensuring all project aspects meet Summit’s rigorous standards for quality and safety.


Who We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of proven experience in commercial construction.
  • Strong decision-making abilities under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Committed to quality and excellence.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with experience in On Screen Takeoff, Sage CRE 300, Procore, and Bluebeam preferred.
