Job Title: Applications Engineering Lead/Mgr Type: Direct Hire Work Model: Onsite

System One is partnering with a local client looking for an Applications Engineering lead/manager

We are seeking an experienced Applications Engineering Team Lead to oversee a team of engineers supporting installation and construction projects. This role combines technical leadership, customer engagement, proposal development, project planning, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver successful project outcomes. The ideal candidate will bring strong engineering expertise, leadership experience, and a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Applications Engineers responsible for reviewing customer inquiries, defining project scope, and planning equipment installation activities.
  • Travel to customer sites to provide technical support, conduct site evaluations, and assist with proposal development.
  • Support technical evaluation and risk assessment of customer requirements and project opportunities.
  • Coordinate with internal personnel and subcontractors to define installation requirements and develop cost estimates.
  • Prepare project budgets and supporting documentation for customer quotations.
  • Develop, review, and issue formal proposals while managing customer follow-up and negotiations.
  • Provide regular updates to management regarding proposal progress, project opportunities, and pipeline status.
  • Support sales and project teams with technical and commercial guidance throughout project execution.
  • Assist in the development of sales presentations and project turnover documentation.
  • Partner with project execution teams to ensure successful delivery of awarded projects.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify process improvements, training needs, and tools that support team effectiveness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, Chemical, or related discipline) or Construction Management.
  • Experience in combustion-related industries or similar technical industries preferred.
  • Experience working with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firms.
  • Direct experience supporting construction, installation, or field-based projects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and technical skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required.
