Job description

Come join us at Terrestrial Energy, a US developer of advanced, Generation IV nuclear reactors. We are growing our workforce to develop and deploy our Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR) small modular nuclear plant to provide cost-competitive, clean firm heat and power to industry.

The Company has recently completed a merger creating a publicly listed operating company (NASDAQ "IMSR"), to secure the capital resources for our next growth phase. With the current alignment of US Federal and State government, as well as industry interest in Small Modular Reactor (SMR) and advanced reactor technologies such as Terrestrial Energy's IMSR, there is today a unique and compelling opportunity to participate in the execution of the company's growth business plan.

The Project Coordinator, reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager, is primarily responsible for supporting the planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution of project controls activities across Terrestrial Energy's programs and projects, including the Reactor Pilot Program, Fuel Line Pilot Facility, and other projects, programs, and sub-programs supporting the development of the Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR) technology towards fleet deployment. The successful candidate will help ensure project schedules, reporting, documentation, and stakeholder communications remain accurate, current, and aligned with program objectives in a highly regulated advanced nuclear technology environment.


Key Responsibilities include:

Project Controls & Scheduling

  • Gather and analyze project data, including task durations, resource allocations, and milestone dependencies, to prepare detailed schedule and status updates (such as forecast finish dates, percentage complete, and variance analysis).
  • Support the preparation of schedule forecasts for project completion by analyzing schedule activities, calculating monthly cost accruals, and maintaining an accurate project change log.
  • Support the integration of supplier and national laboratory partner schedules into overall program schedules.
  • Help track and report on resource allocation and availability, ensuring optimal utilization and early identification of bottlenecks.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of standardized project controls templates, procedures, and best practices to streamline project execution and ensure consistency.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare project progress and variance reports, develop dashboards, and generate actionable insights to inform stakeholders and support decision-making.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, ensuring all records are current, accurately versioned, and securely stored within document control and configuration management systems.
  • Assist in the coordination of internal and external document control, including supplier document interfaces.
  • Utilize project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project) to support scheduling, resource management, and reporting activities.

Coordination & Communication

  • Facilitate clear and timely communication among project stakeholders, ensuring accurate dissemination of project information and alignment on objectives.
  • Schedule and coordinate project meetings, prepare agendas, capture minutes, and track action items to ensure follow-through.
  • Coordinate with Procurement to track the status of procurement processes, and support coordination with vendors and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders, including engineering, safety, quality assurance, and licensing teams, to follow up on action items, monitor progress, and resolve outstanding issues.
  • Provide support and training to team members on project controls processes, tools, and software.

Risk & Quality Support

  • Assist in identifying potential project risks, assess impact and likelihood, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement mitigation plans.
  • Assist in monitoring project deliverables, perform quality checks, and verify compliance with defined standards before handover.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, evaluate best practices, and contribute to the implementation of streamlined project management methodologies.
