Job Description

The Project Coordinator will report to the ITG PMO Infrastructure Program Manager and is responsible for coordinating information technology projects throughout the Arizona Department of Transportation. This position's primary responsibility is to support the PC Refresh Project team in daily activities such as coordinating meetings/vendors/contractors/technicians, generating correspondence, scheduling resources, tracking work progress, preparing reports and miscellaneous duties as necessary.ย 

Qualifications

Knowledge of:

Requirements gathering.

Principles and practices of project coordination/management.

Financial management.

Procurement rules and regulations.

Software products to aid in your management of projects.

Experience with managing technical resources and maintaining project schedules and budgets.

Strong technical background in IT infrastructure with an emphasis on technology development/deployment.

Excellent business communication skills, both written and verbal.

Excellent technical writing, reviewing and editing skills.

Working knowledge of and ability to apply industry-standard project management best practices.

Working knowledge of and ability to apply IT Service Management best practices.


Ability to:

Work independently on tasks of moderate-high complexity.

Create documentation and reports.

Implement software and infrastructure solutions in an enterprise environment.

Excellent Organizational and time management abilities with emphases on accuracy and detail.

Work effectively with a wide range of people.

Work efficiently and meet deadlines.

Level of understanding of specific IT disciplines to complete major projects independently.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and overall PC skills.

Ability to handle several tasks concurrently


Preferred Skills:

Will possess 5 plus years of IT system administration and project coordination experience managing infrastructure/distributed systems projects, which included knowledge of project planning, organization, management and control, and the ability to work well with others with varying degrees of technical expertise; and proficient working knowledge of project management practices, and Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point.


Preference is given to candidates who have a PMP, CAPM or ITIL certification.
