Job description

Overview
The field-based Project Controls Manager is responsible for leading the implementation, standardization, and continuous improvement of project controls practices across MasTec Power projects. This role provides oversight, training, and governance of cost control processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and effective project performance management across MasTec Industrial.
 
Location & Travel Details: You can be based in any city or state in the U.S.. This is a traveling, project based position, up to 90% of the time. You have the potential to be placed on a project site located in any state throughout the US. You’ll spend 8-18 months on average per project. We offer designated per diem in addition to an excellent base salary to support and help you cover living expenses. This position is eligible for mobilization support (may include mileage reimbursement), and includes one longer weekend every four weeks for additional time at home.

Responsibilities
  • Effectively communicate project scope, plan, and progress to stakeholders
  • Coordinate resources and participants engaged in the Project Controls activities
  • Compile, review and analysis of project controls related data
  • Implement and compile actual and committed cost, budget, progress and schedule data
  • Create and Manage Internal Monthly Report for Stakeholders
  • Ensure Project teams are providing and analyzing Job Metrics
  • Develop practices and procedures as directed
  • Assist/train project management in use of PM/Controls tools
  • Assist Estimating in gathering and analyzing return data
  • Provide Support for Business Development in the Proposal Phase
  • Engage in Proposal Effort with PM to ensure complete Bid Packages are submitted
  • Support Management in reviewing workflow software
  • Works independently on complex assignments
  • Manage, lead direct reports, and mentor.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 10 years project cost management or related work experience
  • 5+ years of schedule integration, practices and tools
  • PMP Certification a plus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations.
  • When on-site, actively participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors.
  • Set a personal example of safe behavior.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Primavera
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage simultaneous tasks/assignments
  • Exceptional team building skills and ability to collaborate with groups throughout the company
