About the Role ExecuPOWER is seeking an Project Controls Analyst โ€“ Distribution Engineering to support project controls activities for electric utility distribution engineering projects. This role will work closely with Distribution Designers & Engineers and utility clients to monitor project performance and ensure projects remain aligned with established scope, schedule, budget, and resource. The Associate Project Controls Analyst will support schedule management, cost tracking, forecasting, project reporting, and performance measurement across distribution engineering projects. This position is ideal for an analytical professional who enjoys working with data, identifying trends, solving problems, and helping project teams make informed decisions. The successful candidate will have strong Excel and analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and an interest in developing a career within electric utility distribution engineering and project controls.

What Youโ€™ll Do Distribution Engineering Project Controls
  • Provide project controls support for electric distribution engineering projects from project initiation through completion.
  • Work closely with Distribution Designers and Engineers to monitor project scope, schedule, budget, and resource requirements.
  • Track project milestones, engineering deliverables, design packages, and other key project activities.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential schedule, cost, or resource issues.
  • Assist with maintaining project baselines and tracking changes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support multiple distribution engineering projects simultaneously.
Schedule Management
  • Assist with developing, updating, and maintaining project schedules.
  • Track engineering deliverables, milestones, dependencies, and critical activities.
  • Analyze schedule performance and identify variances, delays, and potential impacts.
  • Work with engineering teams to collect schedule updates and maintain accurate project status.
  • Assist with schedule forecasting and recovery planning.
  • Support weekly and monthly project status reviews.
Cost Tracking & Forecasting
  • Track project budgets, actual costs, commitments, and forecasts.
  • Assist with monthly project financial reporting and forecasting.
  • Analyze budget and cost variances and identify potential issues.
  • Support cost-to-complete and estimate-at-completion activities.
  • Track project resources and contractor utilization.
  • Assist with invoicing, accruals, and other project financial activities.
Project Performance & Reporting
  • Develop and maintain project performance reports, dashboards, and metrics.
  • Analyze project data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support earned value and other project performance measurement activities.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports for Engineering leadership, and clients.
  • Translate complex project information into clear, actionable reporting.
  • Support presentations and project review meetings.
Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve project controls, reporting, and project management processes.
  • Assist with developing standardized project controls tools, templates, and reporting processes.
  • Support initiatives designed to improve project visibility, forecasting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Help improve data quality and consistency across project management systems.
What Youโ€™ll Bring Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 4 + years of experience in project controls, project management, engineering, construction, utility operations, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineers, project managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting electric utility distribution engineering projects.
  • Experience in electric distribution, utility engineering, construction, or power delivery.
  • Familiarity with distribution engineering processes, including design, permitting, construction, work orders, or project closeout.
  • Experience with project scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project, or similar software.
  • Experience with cost forecasting, project controls, or financial reporting.
