Precision Construction is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Surveyor to support our heavy civil and commercial construction projects. The Surveyor will be responsible for accurate layout, field measurements, data collection, and verification of project control to ensure work is performed according to plans and specifications.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining quality, efficiency, and precision across all phases of construction.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform construction staking and layout for heavy civil and commercial projects
  • Establish and verify horizontal and vertical control points
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and CAD files
  • Operate total stations, GPS equipment, data collectors, and laser levels
  • Conduct as-built surveys and verify completed work
  • Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and field crews
  • Ensure accuracy of grading, utilities, foundations, and structural layout
  • Maintain detailed field notes and survey documentation
  • Assist with quantity verification and field measurements as needed
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of construction surveying experience (heavy civil preferred)
  • Proficient with GPS, robotic total stations, and survey data collectors
  • Experience with Trimble, Leica, or similar systems preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret civil and commercial construction plans
  • Strong understanding of grading, utilities, and site development
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
