Job description

Position Title: Project Manager, Technology Projects

Department: Technology R&D

Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Reports to: Manager, Technology Development


Role Description

The Project Manager will lead the project management function for Eavor's Jules drilling technology development. This role is accountable for developing and maintaining project charters, schedules, budgets, milestones, risk registers, and change records, as well as tracking funding & reporting obligations and external technology partner commitments.

Working alongside the technical leads responsible for design and delivery, the Project Manager will maintain an integrated project view across design, testing and preparation for field demonstration. The successful candidate will be organized, practical, collaborative, and able to bring structure to complex technical work while streamlining workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Develop and maintain project charters, integrated schedules, milestones, risk registers, and project tracking tools
  • Track deliverables, decisions, and dependencies across internal workstreams and external technology partners
  • Drive the project cadence needed to maintain progress across workstreams


Funding, Reporting and Budget

  • Track project spending, forecasts, commitments, accruals, and variances against approved budgets
  • Manage project requirements and milestone reporting tied to grants and other funding commitments
  • Prepare and coordinate project inputs for board updates, investor requests, partner updates, and funding applications
  • Work with Legal on grant agreements, partner agreements, reporting obligations, and changes that may affect funding or contractual commitments
  • Monitor funding programs and grant opportunities; and prepare application documents.

Requirements, Interfaces & Reviews

  • Maintain documented requirements, change logs and decision records
  • Plan and facilitate design reviews at key development milestones
  • Track changes to scope, schedule, budget, requirements, deliverables, and funding commitments
  • Maintain rigorous document control to support technical, funding, commercial, legal, and IP requirements
  • Support planning for future development phases, field trials, and commercial scale-up activities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years experience working on complex, multi-disciplinary technical projects, preferably in technology development, drilling, project delivery, or operations in the energy industry
  • PMP certification, equivalent project management training, or willingness to pursue PMP certification is an asset
  • Demonstrated project management capability in a technical environment, including schedule, budget, risk, change control, and reporting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
