Overview

Are you a detail-oriented leader with a knack for navigating complex contractual landscapes? As a Contracts and Change Manager, you will oversee our project controls program and activities regarding contract and change management for this high profile project. Your expertise in interpreting contract language will ensure our project teams operate smoothly and efficiently within the parameters of contract specifications.

What you will be doing
  • Interpret contract language to understand the risks, rights and responsibilities of the project teams and guide project teams in properly managing in accordance with these clauses to limit Company's exposure to additional costs. 
  • Reviews and analyzes contract management records to provide technical advice or project control guidance for the purposes of limiting exposure or protecting the Company from additional risks due to changes and claims.  
  • Oversees project change and claim reporting and provides reporting to Project Controls Director for Division level reports.  
  • Oversees and provides support for change and claim preparation for the projects within the Project. 
  • Assists projects in preparing for disputes resolution hearing and other alternative resolution methods meetings. 
  • Supports integration of Company systems to track, monitor and control costs or schedule and claim resolution 
  •  Ensures accurate training and utilization of approved systems for project document control and reporting.  
  • Performs regular project reviews and monitors job risks and change management against key performance indicators (KPIs).  
  • Coordinates with project teams and Project Controls Director in tracking and monitoring change order and claims preparation and resolution 
  • Prepares action plan for resolving unsecured revenue, including Unsecured Revenue and Claims reporting forms.  
  • Reviews /under billing to determine possible measures for resolution. 
  • Works in close coordination with other Division and District Project Controls staff for identifying, monitoring and resolving claims and change issues. 
  • Coordinates, manages and provides assistance to outside counsel and third party consultants as needed for claim and change resolution. 
What we are looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.  
  • 7+ years' experience in construction engineering, project management or project controls required.  
  • Experience with complex scheduling, cost control processes, claims/change preparation and dispute resolution procedures required.  
  • Knowledge of construction contract agreements and change order processes required.  
  • Knowledge of various methodologies for claims pricing and preparation as well as accounting principles required.  
  • Proven leadership and influential skills. Able to effectively work and communicate with all levels of the company.  
  • Able to identify contract specifications that delegate risk and provide appropriate mitigation measures.  
  • Delegation and communication skills required. Able to develop or refine a company-wide program and clearly communicate expectations and business value to all levels of the business.
