Job description

A leading logistics provider is seeking a Project Manager in Project Logistics Division with expertise in heavy‐haul, barge, rail, and project cargo operations. This role manages end‐to‐end project and spot‐shipment logistics, RFQs, supplier coordination, costing, and execution across multiple modes.

  • Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid)
  • Employment Type: Direct Hire
  • Salary: $120K+/yr (DOE) - Exempt
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8AM–5PM

Requirements for Project Manager – Project Logistics Division

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience in transportation operations; heavy haul/barge/rail
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong analytical and multitasking skills
  • Knowledge of port operations, over‐dimensional transport, and project logistics
  • Ability to develop logistics plans for large-scale transportation from origin to destination.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Must have (or be able to obtain) a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) due to port and maritime facility access requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage major/minor project logistics and spot loads
  • Oversee project costing, budgeting, scheduling, and risk
  • Lead RFQ/RFP development, analysis, and negotiations
  • Build route plans and evaluate transportation methods
  • Manage supplier relationships (carriers, heavy haul, barge, rail, crane & rigging)
  • Book shipments across all modes and ensure compliance with internal policies
  • Maintain track‐and‐trace reporting and logistics data trends
  • Prepare shipment/project P&L summaries
  • Travel as needed for site, vendor, and port visits
