Job description

Overview

We are seeking a Project Associate to join our research team, this is a hybrid position. This position supports a variety of research and project management activities, including data coordination, technical writing, and logistics for project implementation. The Project Associate plays a key role in supporting research initiatives, ensuring high-quality documentation, and facilitating collaboration across internal teams and external partners. Occasional travel and flexibility to meet project deadlines may be required.

Chestnut Health Systems is a leading provider of integrated health care services. Since 1973, Chestnut has grown to more than 800 committed, compassionate employees providing substance use, mental health, and primary care treatment to patients in Illinois and Missouri. We provide fully integrated care for all our patients by combining behavioral health care services with our community-based primary care health centers. Chestnut also conducts research and training throughout the U.S.A.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain project files, including recruitment materials, literature reviews, data products, and data sharing agreements
  • Perform technical writing and editing for peer-reviewed publications, presentations, grant proposals, reports, and intervention materials
  • Conduct research and internet searches to support project needs, including guidelines, reference materials, and logistical planning
  • Assist in preparing, compiling, and organizing materials for reports, meetings, and trainings
  • Support project file management, ensuring accurate organization and distribution of documents
  • Assist with basic qualitative and quantitative data analysis in collaboration with research team members
  • Coordinate logistics for data collection and intervention activities, including scheduling, communications, travel, and venue arrangements
  • Support participant engagement activities, including consent processes and communication
  • Collaborate with project leadership to develop and implement research protocols and ensure consistency across team members
  • Assist with cross-training staff on project procedures and protocols
  • Travel as needed to support project activities, meetings, and trainings
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in social sciences OR Bachelor's degree with relevant research experience
  • Demonstrated experience in research support, project coordination, or related field
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills
  • Experience with technical writing and editing preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general research tools
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities
