Job Overview:

Primoris Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries and include services covering tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.

SUMMARY

The Project Manager is responsible for managing the allocated contract, fostering a positive relationship with the Client through planning, monitoring, controlling, reporting, communicating and leading the project.

JOB DUTIES

  • Project setup through internal and client requirements

  • Coordinate the hiring or re-allocation of project staff and advise project staff of their job responsibilities in accordance with Project-developed RASCI Matrix

  • Review and/or contribute to the development of estimates, project execution plans and manage the project execution within the estimate guidelines

  • Facilitate & lead project meetings

  • Generate project budget and setup folders/templates

  • Ensure accurate and timely project reporting is provided and maintained

  • Oversee quality to ensure all inspections and documentation are accurate and maintained in accordance with Client and Company requirements

  • Schedule and participate in audits with the Quality Manager

  • Responsible for preparing a detailed sub-contractor requisition prior to execution

  • Review all productivity/progress reports generated prior to issuance and articulate the impacts causing low productivities

  • Ensure RFI's are detailed and concise, and provide solutions where applicable

  • Review Extra Work Orders log, subcontract change log, and ensure information is adequately detailed

  • Determine Project Schedule level of detail required and publish a 3 week look ahead in collaboration with site supervision.

  • Maintain Client communication, ensuring impact and progress reporting are provided adequately and timely

  • Review and approve all invoices before they are issued to the Client

  • Review, reject, and/or approve all 3rd party project invoices and inter-company invoices prior to being issued for payment.

  • Various other duties as requested by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent relevant technical experience

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in industrial construction, involving civil, structural, mechanical/piping, or electrical scopes

  • Able to define scope of work and project specifications

  • Ability to quantify activities, materials, and supplies

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Skilled determination of critical construction path

  • Strong understanding of construction safety, quality control, and project controls

  • Basic accounting knowledge

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Skilled in MS Office (specifically Excel)

  • Experience with Primavera is preferred
