JOB SUMMARY
Works under minimal supervision to provide responsible technical assistance in performance of assignments requiring basic knowledge of techniques and practices related to particular field of science. 
 

The Population Research Project Assistant I will help with patient recruitment, enrollment, baseline and follow-up study visits, collection of measures and outcomes data, and retention calls. The Principal Investigator and a Research Coordinator will supervise this position and will participate in weekly local team meetings. This position will also serve as a retention specialist, with routine monthly calls and outreach to participants.

We are seeking a Population Research Project Assistant I to join our 7-person clinical research team working on several different grant funded projects focused on people with or at risk for HIV, substance use and criminal legal involvement. Research team members should be compassionate, collaborative, and interested in community and public health. Strong organizational and social skills are needed. Prior research experience and Spanish language is a plus but not required.

JOB DUTIES

  • Recruit and screen participant for multiple research projects; recruitment may take place on or off campus or via telephone.
  • Schedule appointments, obtain consent forms, explain study to participant and collect data.
  • Interview participants for assigned research projects; interviews may be in person, in clinical setting, subject's residence or by telephone.
  • Travel to recruitment sites as needed.
  • Perform a variety of research duties such as library reference materials search for necessary project information.
  • Perform medical records abstractions, data coding and data entry.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
