TITLE: HR Benefits, Wellness and People Focus Intern 2027
LOCATION: HYBRID - (Carmel, IN or Chicago, IL)

CNO Financial Group is hiring a HR Benefits, Wellness and People Focus Intern to work alongside our experienced Human Resources associates, assisting with professional day-to-day work within the department.
Core responsibilities and deliverables:
  • Network with associates and senior leaders across different functions, including VPs and ELG members, to foster collaboration and gain insights for various projects.
  • Assist in gathering data and essay responses for local and national well-being applications.
  • Participate in vendor demos, and market analysis projects as needed.
  • Assist in a variety of projects related to benefits, well-being, and Human Resources as needed.
  • Opportunities to get involved with various Business Resource Groups and other People Focus initiatives, such as monthly support groups, PRIDE parade activities, keynote events etc.
  • Assist in annual open enrollment process by reviewing and making updates to associate benefits guides and recruiting materials.
  • Assist in revising annual documents such as the Benefits & Well-being survey, Annual Enrollment Benefits Guide and Recruiting Documents.
  • Contribute to the company's simplification objective by finding creative ways to simplify processes and documents.
  • Work with the Well-being, Business Resource Groups and Facilities team to help plan and implement various aspects of the company-wide social events.
  • Assist in creating various communications, flat sheets and videos pertaining to topics related to Benefits, Well-being and People Focus (i.e., mental health, caregiving, and inclusive care.)
  • Assist in testing systems and portals when necessary.
  • Partner with different areas to expand AI tools and resources for associates.

What you need (Minimum requirements):
  • Progress towards a bachelor's degree business, management, human resources, industrial psychology, communications or related discipline.
  • Status as a rising junior or rising senior, approx. graduation dates of December 2027-June 2029.
  • Availability to work 40 hrs/week for 10-12 weeks during the summer.
  • Candidate location in Central or Eastern US time zone is preferred OR willingness to work Central or Eastern time zone business hours.

The CNO 2027 internship program will run May 17 through August 06, 2027.
