Overview
The Director of Marketing & Brand provides strategic leadership for Memorial Health's enterprise-wide marketing and brand functions, including marketing strategy, advertising, creative and multimedia services, digital marketing, analytics and insights, and brand management. This role is responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that drive volume growth, strengthen brand reputation, and advance the organization's business objectives, mission, vision, and strategic priorities.
Working collaboratively with the Director of Internal & External Communications and leaders across the health system, the Director oversees the development and implementation of enterprise-wide marketing plans that align with organizational goals, support service line growth, enhance patient and consumer engagement, and reinforce Memorial Health's market position.
The Director serves as a key steward of the Memorial Health brand and a trusted marketing advisor to senior leadership, ensuring all marketing efforts reflect the organization's standards of excellence and core values of Safety, Integrity, Quality, and Stewardship.
Qualifications
Education:
  • Master's degree in marketing, business, communications or related field preferred; bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications or related field required.

Experience:
  • 8-12 years of progressive marketing experience, with 5+ years in a leadership or people-management role.

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to serve as a trusted marketing advisor to organizational leaders and business partners.
  • Proven ability to lead enterprise-wide marketing and brand strategy in a complex fast-growing organization.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align marketing efforts to organizational growth, volume and reputation goals. A deep understanding of healthcare markets, patient behaviors specific to Memorial Health, and regulatory considerations.

Responsibilities
  1. Supports the Vice President of Marketing & Communications in leading the day-to-day enterprise-wide marketing and brand functions.
  2. Translates organizational strategic priorities and business goals into integrated marketing strategies that drive growth, improve reputation and advance enterprise objectives.
  3. In collaboration with the Director of Internal and External Communications, the Vice President of Marketing & Communication and others, develops and maintains an enterprise-wide marketing plan with initiatives that are data-informed, results driven and aligned with standards of excellence.
  4. Leads, mentors and develops a team of creative services professionals, marketing business parters, analysts and digital experience professionals to execute on well-planned strategic service line marketing plans and initiatives.
  5. Leads and is the primary liaison to external agencies including Jump or others in the support and execution the system's developed marketing strategies and goals.
  6. Oversees advertising strategy, media planning and coordination with internal partners and/or external agencies to ensure efficient ad placement, budget stewardship and performance with campaign goals.
  7. Builds cohesive alignment among and works collaboratively with MarComm teams on clear priorities, shared goals and best practices. Holds consistent meetings and touchpoints with department managers, team members and business partners to align on workflows, deadlines and to keep work flowing smoothing among the department leads.
  8. Oversees marketing budget development, forecasting and expense management in partnership with department and organizational leadership.
  9. Develops and maintains productive relationships with leaders across the enterprise in support of marketing Business Partners who are informing and coordinating the day-to-day creation of marketing materials and plans. Ensures plans meet regulatory and legal requirements.
  10. Provides strategic counsel to services lines and Business Parters as the team anticipates marketing needs and proactively recommends approaches, tools, plans and messaging solutions.
  11. Stewards the Memorial Health System brand, ensuring consistent, high-quality brand expression across all channels and platforms. Partners with internal stakeholders and external agencies to protect, strengthen and evolve brand perception, trust and differentiation in the market.
  12. Leverages automated systems and processes when possible.
  13. Strengthens brand awareness, trust, and preference across key audiences, including patients, families, providers, employees, payors, external business partners and community.
  14. Oversees analytics and insights to measure campaign effectiveness, brand performance, and return on investment and expenditure.
  15. Uses data, market insights, automation and emerging technologies to improve decision-making, increase efficiency and strengthen marketing performance. Identifies and implements innovative tools, workflows and AI-enabled solutions that improve insight generation, team productivity and campaign effectiveness. Leads a culture of continuous improvement by testing new approaches, adopting scalable technologies and translating insights into practical action. Provides strategic oversight of creative, multimedia, and digital content to ensure quality, effectiveness, and brand consistency.
  16. Supports documentation of processes, team standards and cross-functional workflows.
  17. Maintains up-to-date records of project status, timelines, and deliverables using adopted team project tracking tools. In a shared report with the Director of Internal and External Communications, reports marketing function progress weekly to the VP of Marketing & Communications for review and oversight.
  18. Develops annual goals consistent with Memorial Health System's Strategic Plan and Goals, and monitors the status of goal achievement using 30-day action plans.
  19. Maintains professional affiliations as appropriate. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in continuing education, in-service meetings/seminars and workshops.
  20. Performs other related work as required or requested.
