Position Summary:
The Provider Network Services (PNS) Director of Specialty Clinics (DSC) functions in a leadership role within PNS, and works in collaboration with physicians, Assistant Directors (AD) and Senior Leadership Staff. DSC provides day-to-day leadership within responsible specialties or programs and supervises the development, implementation, and organization of the programs. In conjunction with AD, facilitate the performance improvement process with a focus on patient, employee, and physician satisfaction, as well as clinical quality and operational efficiency. Presents new approaches and provides the support needed to facilitate implementation where appropriate. The DSC works closely with physicians and staff of assigned PNS Clinic locations to oversee operations of the clinic(s) and align it with the PNS mission and strategic vision.
 
Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration or closely related field required.
  • May substitute for an Associate's degree in healthcare AND five (5) years’ practice leadership experience.
Experience:
  • A minimum five (5) years specific medical practice administration experience preferred. 
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
  • Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) through the American College of Medical Practice or equivalent preferred.

Assessment of overall credit worthiness by review of a consumer credit report is required.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Directs, evaluates, and monitors performance of service line responsibilities to ensure the delivery of services meet cost, quality, safety, and experience requirements to achieve operational goals.
  • Accountable for the overall development, strategic visioning, and operational performance of the service line.
  • Development, planning, coordinating, and implementing business plan and strategy.
  • Development of budgets and overseeing all aspects of the daily operation of the business including business expansion; office coding billing and collections; patient service design; employee management and training; corporate and regulatory compliance; risk management; policy & procedure management; medical record management; technical issues to include information technology; physical office issue resolution; physician issue resolution; daily flow and evaluating standards of care for patients.
  • In conjunction with Assistant Director, facilitate the performance improvement process with a focus on patient, employee, and physician satisfaction, as well as clinical quality and operational efficiency.
  • Presents new approaches and provides the support needed to facilitate implementation where appropriate. 
  • Coordinates efforts between stakeholders in the patient experience to include office-based physicians/staff and health system staff and resources while tracking the progress of the program and identifying areas requiring attention.
  • Works with the interdisciplinary teams to deliver an exceptional patient experience and monitors the quality-of-care delivery.
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of the care pathway and modifies as necessary and acts as a liaison with outside care providers and referral sources when needed.
  • Greet all patients and their accompanying family members when applicable and provide exemplary customer service. 
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues, physicians, and department heads. 
  • Effectively utilize strong organizational skills. 
  • Consistently display effective verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient understanding and use of technology/PC skills required.
  • Regularly exercise independent judgement.
