Job description

ASSOCIATE PROGRAM DIRECTOR POSITION FOR INTERNAL MEDICINE RESIDENCY PROGRAM AT MCLEOD HEALTH

McLeod Health is actively seeking a dynamic and innovative leader for a faculty position of Associate Program Director on our new Internal Medicine Residency Program. We are looking for a board-certified physician recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association. The Associate Program Director is a key leader and member of the faculty of the Internal Medicine Residency Program, who assists the Program Director in the administrative and clinical oversight of the educational program. Clinical activity could include Outpatient Internal Medical, Inpatient Hospital work or a combination of the two, depending on interest additional leadership opportunities include Director or the Outpatient Internal Medicine Clinic or Director of the Academic Inpatient Medicine Service. The Associate Program Director will also assist the Program Director with other duties assigned to support the needs of the education program.

Position Requirements include: specialty expertise and at least three years of documented educational experience and/or administrative experience; current Internal Medicine Board Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine; experience working as part of an interdisciplinary, interprofessional team to create an educational environment that promotes high-quality care, patient safety, and resident well-being; eligible for full licensure to practice medicine in the state of South Carolina; eligible for unrestricted Active Medical Staff privileges; strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills; knowledge and understanding of the requirements for continued accreditation as an ACGME-accredited program in Internal Medicine; and demonstrate values and behaviors consistent with McLeod Health's values and behavior standards.

Key Responsibilities include assisting in Curriculum Development; clinical and teaching supervision; educational leadership; assessment and evaluation; participate in academic societies and educational programs; recruitment and selection; administrative oversight; quality Improvement; research and scholarly activity, and collaboration.
